Did the Italian NC Coach already discuss his role for during the WC? Get in an early break or help out Ciccone as much as possible?

Fausto himself said something like 'help the captains in the critical moments of the race' and that he is there to be a team player. Nothing more specific than that. I doubt he will be in the first break, but he might try to get a group off the front later.

After watching the women race, Fausto needs to try and get a move off the front in the mid point of the race. Of course , it can just be good domestic work, taking the pressure from Italy to chase. But also, with the attrition, to be out front and he can be in a good position to fight for a high placement!

Absolutely. Every Pogacar solo since Lombardia 2021 is asterisked by Fausto's problems or not participating in the said race.
