why would she have had injections/blood extraction from her left thigh?

Plaster with single red blood spot on (her) left thigh. probably most clear at 33 seconds. looks to be directly over a fairly prominent vein.

i thought intravenous injections were very tightly regulated and pretty much forbidden. i also wouldn't expect drug testers etc. to ever extract blood from the thigh.

not sure if i'm misunderstanding. i expect that i am because i would've thought even the most stupid doper wouldn't attend a scheduled naked photo shoot if signs of doping were clearly visible.

any thoughts?

Dangerous? Sad? Please name all the women cyclists who have died or had their lives ruined as a result of a supposed eating disorder? Once you figure out that answer is ZERO, you'll realize there is nothing either sad or dangerous and your statement is therefore false.

You're a cyborg and you have no heart.

Really, though, you're a fool.

Maybe there should be a bit more of a focus on triathlon when it comes to doping. Rumour has it that the drug testers turned up in force prior to the start of Hawaii 2 weeks ago & Wellington pulled the pin on racing - coincidence?
The woman are now running world class marathon times that would win them many 'big city' marathons outright after swimming what ever distance an ironman swim is and TTing for 180k in stinking hot weather - coincidence?

2.56...?? I guess that could win the big city marathon of Dip****, Nowhere.

Mara won the Giro, most likely due in part to her low body fat. Is that sad? Maybe the riders who are too heavy and can't climb...now there's your sadness angle. Women cyclists who don't win races get paid less than minimum wage. Mara gets a decent salary - one of only a handful in the sport.

Nothing sad about it. Let me know if you think supermodels who make $7 million/year also lead "sad" and "dangerous" lives.

We will just have to agree to disagree. The answer is not ZERO.

He's just one of those objectivists who believes that athletes are all gladiators.

With that mentality, it follows that sport should have no rules. First to the finish or most goals by any means necessary. I can't wait for riders to start jamming metal rods into others' front wheels and for the introduction of brass knuckles.

There is a name for the disorder “The Female Athlete Triad,”
Triad disorders are thought to be most common among female athletes in sports or activities which emphasize a lean physique or low body weight, such as gymnastics, swimming, or track and field.

I believe problems develop when body fat % gets under 17% in females. I'm too busy too look it up right now I haven't read the comics this morning

Ok here is the question everyone is thinking: Would you?

lol....someone had to ask....

And honestly....someone had to answer....so here goes....honestly....God yes!

I feel a bit cheap and weird answering that but it's the truth and you are right, everyone was thinking it. I used to think no. I always had an issue with the ears to be honest, but there is something quite wrongly "stirring" about her and her body.

As to her appearance and supposed evidence of PED use (I can't be bothered to search which moron asked about the plaster to cover up a leg shaving nick), well, yes she is super lean and muscularly defined. So that means she dopes? She trains 30 plus hours a week. Hard. So would you be that defined, doing the mileage she does. She is also oiled, pumped (no s******ing) and lit for the photo shoot. I can say from personal experience having raced at races with her, and purely in the name of "research", having studied her "running gait" in some detail as she has passed me, she doesn't always look quite like that, but she is super lean and defined like most long distance triathlete women. Just look at Michellie Jones, Julie Dibens, Natascha Badman etc etc.

I have been lucky enough to "look" at them a number of times. In fact, I almost got a time penalty for "drafting" Miss Jones once. And that will always remain my defence.

Ok I am going to find another thread now, as this is making me feel a bit....well....er....let's just say I got banned from here once for something not dissimilar:D

I don't see anything wrong with a lil-bit-o clenbuterol-free Beef Wellington. She has great muscle tone and vascularity. However, I prefer more of the Babes on Bikes variety. Still, I wouldn't kick myself out of her draft and I may even let her sit on my wheel:D

Yes and I would certainly give her my CO2 cartridge if she needed to pump her tyres....infact I would give her both of them...

<<<<shakes head

this should be in a different thread:

"most obscure cycling reference used as smutty innuendo"

Please stop me now someone, I can actually see the infraction landing in my inbox.

Run Swim Lift..

The world would be a much better place if triathlon never despoiled the great bicycle. If only by the nature of the combination, triathletes are inferior runners, swimmers and cyclists which leads them to cheat and to spread the cheating mentality..If they could have only made triathlons run swim and lift weights we'd all be better for it.

how about you look at the splits of the recent ITU world championship races. I do not think you can call a 28 min 10k run "inferior"

Inferior is fair..not quite great in any discipline but with an excuse. Could win the Tour de France but is saving some for the run etc etc. not

Right on! This thread finally got pulled back from the pasty-faced mole people pitching tents in their spandex, and driven to the realm of belittlement of trigeeks. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. Nothing like being mediocre at three things...
