Classic viviani

In what sense? I'm not arguing, I just don't know his history.

It sometimes seems as if he could pick a fight with his own feet and then refuse to use them for six months because he's still sulking with them.

To be fair he's only started to do this regularly in the last year or so. Before that it was more sparse episodes.

He does seem a bit hot-headed, yes. He was probably just dissapointed with being so close to winning, nothing personal against Cav I guess.

Viviani spent too much time watching Gavira, rather than just picking up points himself.

Is Colombia going to have his first road world champion because of sprinting? LOL

This guy is a beast!

Any questions/doubts on Gaviria's greatness? ;)
Yep. I'm a huge fan myself but he's just won his first WorldTour race. Let's settle down, kids, you're making me nervous.

He is a star ...you can see already ....its not that he won. Its that he did as if he had being doing it all his life

(BTW thought I'd come over here and spell Colombia incorrectly for the sheer hell of it :D...but decided safer not to  )

Wow... I have to say he's surpassed my already lofty expectations... If I'm not mistaken, this was his first opportunity to win a bunch sprint in a World Tour race, and he almost made it look easy by staying on the hoods the whole time :D

I hope not. Not because I don't like Gaviria, I do very much and think he has great potential and is probably the next big thing, but because I really hope there aren't any sprint WCs for the next 10 or 15 years. I imagine gavairia will stil be able to win one, but through Freire style or a late attck.

Anyway, great win. Track skills showed while navigating through the field.

There's always this year.

Impressed to see him in the finale, but I was also surprised to see him make such a big mistake in a finale like that. Hopefully he's learned a lesson

He couldn't believe that he was in position to win MSR and then he looked back and crashed.

I hope he learns from this. He is such a talented rider! next time. Feel bad for Sagan as well.

Who was it, who said that people would have to be crazy to see Gaviria as a bigger favorite to win than Cav?

He really was in a great position - and he knew he would have won it... He crossed the line crying...

I see you know that too?!

Considering his Tirreno sprint, it's a fair assumption.

''Would have won'' is over the top, but he was certainly at that time the favoruite.
