What a terrible match by the Netherlands.

We played like Uruguay 60 years ago. Kicking every leg of the opponent.
Webb was also a total idiot and totally blind, but we can't complain because he should have sent off Van Bommel and de Jong.
The guy definately never should have been the referee.

Bad final, best team won, end of

Better team won.
Robben will rue that miss, but ramos missed a sitter also.

The ref was god awful, spot on by gesink -- very very very one-sided.
Iniesta was great, but I really hate him after this match, he dropped to the floor at any chance. **** him.

Now that we failed, I'd like to see us play real football again :)
If we fail at euro 2012, I'd rather us fail playing attractive

It was like watching Arsenal v Bolton/Blackburn.

Some more tricks and some flair would of been nice from Spain though. They are technically very good but so dull.

Diego Forlan tried things for Uruguay and shot from distance so i go with him as the best player in tournament by a mile. FIFA get something right for a change..

Dont know but i wish some of the England players could observe how he plays..
Full of energy and always trying things and not scared to fail.

Well done Spain, they deserved it although that was the worst game of a world cup that had many poor games. I have been backing Spain from the start even when everyone thought Germany would beat them, I won myself some money on that. They are furstrating to watch however, with so much possession and so little end product.

I would not have minded seeing the Dutch win but not playing like they did last night, how they can complain about the ref is beyond me. Yes, Spanish players do go down easily but so does Robben. Can anyone reallly defend De Jong and how Van Bommel didnt get a red card and somehow managed to avoid even a suspension in this World Cup is unbelievable. If the Dutch had had a player deservedly sent of in the first half, I think Spain would have torn them to pieces.

Overall, although I didnt see that many games, I thought the WC was dissappointing and even though cycling has its problems, football still has just as many faults. On reflection I think the Euros are a better competition than the World Cup.

Im not going to enjoy the next 4 years, with Spain as champions, but at least i know that they will not be able to defend it, as in 4 years, no one is going to be able to touch Brazil in their world cup. They havent forgotten what happened the last time they hosted it. No one else stands a chance.

Not to mention in 4 years Xavi will be 34.

Thats how old zidane was when he took france to the final.

and a lot of the brazil players will be old too. But the tournament will be in their back yard, and they will be ultra motivated.

Ah crap its going to be winter there again. What a waste. If they had it in the Brazilian summer it would be brilliant.

Congratulations to Wesley Sneijder and Yolanthe Cabau:

Any bets as to this will end like Sneijder's last marriage?
