havent seen the game. I know Mueller scored but who scored for ur gay. Forlan? who has been better? what were the goals like?

Dodgy goalkeeping continues. BTW, Forlan now also on five goals, I hope one of the four guys scores another either today or tomorrow. It always seems, I don't know, wrong that four guys share the same distinction, even if they do score exactly the same amount of goals.

Forlan scored a beautiful half-volley just inside the area. Jansen scored for Germany from a header into an open goal after the goalie completely missed a cross despite not being threatened by any striker.

Damn i think Uruguay deserved something to remember this wc by. Like Bulgaria 94 Croatia 98 Turkey/skorea 2002, and the main one - poland 1974 (best team that tournament, only one to beat germany).

Well Europe is #1, #2 and #3 of the World, just how it should be. :p

Now all that is left is for Spain to crush the Dutch 9-0, maybe 8-0 if we're lucky. And that will be all she wrote for this WC.... Its been fun.

You guys were very good that tourney, no doubt. Beat Brazil, Argentina..... But honestly, you think you were a greater uncrowned champion than The Netherlands?

Also, you didn't beat Germany.... At least not W. Germany, right?

in the groups i think. What i know of this wc comes from bits and pieces i put together from communist propaganda movies i saw in the 90's so i cant be sure. Poland came 3rd. Ah wait DDR beat BRD, you are right poland didnt. THough they had beaten BRD in the munich olympics (then considered important) 2 years previous.

I was confusing with 1982 when i know for certain poland beat italy, before losing to them in the semis.

But in 1974 the loss to Germany was due to the worst on pitch conditions in football history. The pitch was flooded and they shouldnt have played in those conditions. The ball barely moved though credit to BRD they won.
Doesnt matter to me anyway. What do i care about a world cup decades before i was born.

Well, that's why I hope we win tomorrow (even though its obvious we will not) so that I dont have to care about two events which happened 10 and 14 years before I was born.

why would you care whether they won in 74 or 78. All the benefits - getting very drunk on the day they win, missed you anyway.

Besides had Netherlands won either, a victory tomorow would not be as great, which is why i dont like countries who havent won before winning- the players who win get greater than usual hero worship. On the other hand no one remembers many germany players from 90 because it was their 3rd victory. Likewise, were there any italian players in 82 not named paolo rossi?

I said I hope, not that I think.

I also hope for world peace, that I win the lotto, and for a date with Ashley Greene.... But thats not going to happen either, mainly because I don't buy lotto tickets :p
