That´s what I like about US sports. Fight until the end, no whining, no diving, no pretending.
One day USA will dominate soccer too...
Didn´t know Baseball went down below Basketball... The only US major sport I really dislike.
Football is great to watch. Every 2nd game as thrilling as tonights USA-BEL soccer game. I can´t ask for more (ok, better Umps

)
There is a lot of diving in US sports. I heard the NHL is considering
heavily fining coaches and teams for their players diving, I hope it is true.
It is probably not proper to judge the sports on a national level for the US. Basketball does really well in some locations, but is completely ignored in others, same with hockey. Golf is more popular in the south than the north. Baseball has its areas as well, especially in the future as some areas that have baseball interests are getting old. Add an entire new aspect to the equation when you factor in college sports, I went to an SEC school(**** on ole miss!) and they care about college football more than NFL football. Other sports too, I believe tennis is more popular in florida than anywhere else but I may be wrong. Association football tends to be more popular where there is a more diverse culture in America.
Football(NFL):
5-12 second play followed by 30-40 seconds of
downtime, repeated a few times, than more
downtime leading into a punt, followed by
downtime for switching players, some more several second long plays and some more
downtime. I have read studies where in a three hour long (TV broadcast), you get 10-12 minutes of actual playing. I could rant on about football(NFL) but this is probably not the place. I am from Philly and I root against the eagles so they do not make the playoffs and the sports news focuses on hockey more.

I predict Howard will be doing the US talk show circuit similar to what many Olympic gold medalists do...possibly an endorsement or two. Guy probably made himself a chunk of change today
He should definitely cash in, he is 35yo and likely doubtful to be in another WC.
