Oh Belgium, that was a horrible match. No movement, no creativity.

To be honest, this was expected to be our hardest match in the group (the other two should play more 'open'). But come on, it's f*cking Algeria.

What a game by Ochoa so far, denied at least two obvious goals!
First 20 minutes boring, then pretty nice chances,2nd half will be interesting

2nd half was way better though. Algeria was nowhere; they were totally in control.

Unbelievable how this game ended in 0-0. Very good match indeed.

If this was cycling, the Clinic would go berserk now.

Best refereed soccer game I can remember, ever*... A+ for this turkish guy.
That´s how it should be. Not too much yellows, not falling for divers, no blunder descisions... Perfect, players decide the game, not the refs.

And that Goalie, even though some saves happened when he got shot on directly, was the best so far. 5 Saves, no opponent goal....

(* there are certainly more in the past, but since memory fades, this is the best I remember)

Ochoa regressing for a few seconds to a world top 5 goalie like he was when he was 20 (before the knee injuries)

Im starting to hope he might be back to his usual self after seven years of injuries and sucking

Damn intense match, I was entertained even if it lacked some quality and creativity. Are there such a thing as visionary midfielders* these days?

Tequila must wait.

*other than Pirlo

I was thinking that too. Didn't 'notice' the ref. Only criticism - he should have booked Marcelo for that awful dive at the end.

Ochoa was brilliant. MoM by a long way. The one handed save in the first half that reminded us older viewers of the Gordon Banks save against Brazil, was the save of the tournament so far.

Here's a look at the numbers for US viewing. As I said, as a whole, more popular than ever. :)

Like many Yanks, big day for my "second favorite team", Mexico. Woohoo!

"Monday night’s thriller attracted 11.093 million viewers and earned a 6.3 rating"
.... what´s that compared to let´s say JAX vs TEN early Sunday? Or the usual 108th game of the Baseball season?

Edit: OK, should have read on. A MNF goes with 13 million. So that´s a pretty awesome number. Soccer is coming... :)

LOL @ just 6 million for the National Luck League Final... and the Kings won again, but nobody realized.

What did you think of the referee in the Brazil-Mexico match? Everything's still rigged? ;)

For BRA, yes OFC. But this game certainly wasn´t. Everybody gave it all. The ref was superb, as I said right after the game.

My confidence is still as high as when the tournament begun (that Brazil goes to the final no matter what...)

Great to see those viewing figures. There was a US journalist from the New York Times on the radio over here tonight and this was the topic of conversation where he said the game is taking off in popularity with the World Cup on at the moment.

I'm all for the game expanding and it's something I would hope will sustain in the aftermath of the tournament. Fair play to Beckham in attempting to start up his team in Miami. I applaud the Man City owners getting a second team in New York. They get criticism for distorting the transfer market but that's a great initiative on their part. They've also taken over a team in Australia so good on them.

I watched a few games on TV in the past of the Seattle Sounders when Freddie Ljunberg(loved him at Arsenal) was there and I was shocked at how fanatic the support. There does look like support base to build on and grow the game.
