I don't think he needs shorter pancake flat ITT's either. His performance at the WCC ITT compared to that of the ECC ITT doesn't suggest that at least. Also, looking at the final parts of the WCC ITT last year, looking at intermediate times, he lost less and less time on Evenepoel and Dennis further in the race. He only lost 7 seconds in the final 15km to Dennis. In the first 40 km he lost 1m47s to Dennis. Or 2.6 seconds per kilometer in the first 40k, and 0.5 seconds per kilometer in the final 15k.

Obiously, he could have picked a different schedule than Dennis and Evenepoel, but at least it doesn't seem to support we should automatically assume he gets weaker in longer ITT's.

Might not be linear, but find it hard to imagine he's better at 50km ITTs than efforts like today.

No, he said that mid length is the worst for him, really long ones like the last WC are better for him than 30 to 40min long TTs.

Agreed, but short/10k ITT's are very specific.

Oh, that's peculiar. Interesting. I didn't know he had made that statement. It also seems like something he should be able to train, no? I mean, if you're good at 10k and 50k... one would assume you have all the needed attributes to be good at 20-30k as well?

Put a photo of Ganna next to a photo of Wiggins and then think about your sentence again. Right. Be ashamed of yourself!

Okay, probably not too bad to be compared to a Tour winner...
A track rider who started on the road as a TT-specialist before realising that he can climb and is riding for Sky/Ineos!

How much Wigginsier can it get?

He will be the next Ineosbot to win a TT-heavy GT, mark my words.

OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I'm going to come back with this quote in case Ganna will actually do a good GC somewhere in the future. :p

I was just talking about looks again...
But yes, before this stage I doubted that GT potential.
