..............at the end of the day I believe the forecasters, Not armchair know-alls. Vive le tour! Its seem they've increase the rain somewhat once again....... http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/FRXX0076

That website says that the weather 'Right Now' were I am is 'Mostly Cloudy'. In reality, there isn't a single cloud in the sky. And is about 10 degrees hotter than they say it is.

It would be good to see a muddy cobbles stage, but I wouldn't get too excited about it.

What?
Now we have a weather troll.
I seem to recall that the day before Paris-Roubaix, they were forecasting rain.
Did we get rain? Did we heck.

Last week, they were forecasting rain for tomorrow, here.
Now, it's hot and sunny.

Clearly an Armstrong fan who is as desperate, as he is deluded.

If we do get rain on the cobbled stage I predict either Hushovd or EBH as the winner. They both thrive when it gets cold and wet while others get more demoralized.

Hushovd might be tied to Sastre. He says he won't have any duties in that regard, but stage 3 could be an exception. As for EBH he could be tied to Wiggins plus is he really that good on cobbles? He won Gent in 2009, but as I understand that was after a huge break got loose eliminating most of the real cobbles specialists.

On the other hand I'm not sure how many real cobbles specialists are going to be contending stage 3 considering that Boonen and Gilbert aren't going to the Tour and Cancellara, Breschel and half the other specialists have duties in regard to a GC contender. From that perspective either EBH or Hushovd would be good guesses if they have a free role.

Wet

If it does rain......then the speed and conditions will make it hard to control ala tour. HTC Columbia I see on the front but can Cav get over the Col de Stockeu or handle the pave. As yet he's untested. I believe Bruyneel will use the policy of attacking the Astana team constantly and find a way to disrupt harmony in that team.....Splitting Vino and Alberto creating pressure inside the team. Fingers crossed for rain. But I hope no-one gets elimated through a crash.

I predict the brothers shleck will lose time on that stage... They can have the best leadout there is, but those boys ain't pushing their pedals, and I can see those skinny bodies jumping around all over the place. I don't see a lot of happening besides that if punctures hopefully stay out for the favourites, because nearly every cobble specialist is tied to his leader... I bet LA will be desperate to shove away with a breakaway though, because imo he's the better cobble rider from what I've seen in flanders...

there will be a crash at some point on that stage, just depends on where and how many it takes out. Cobbles suck.

Hushovd told Norwegian media that he will do no work for Sastre in the Tour at all. Quite typical for the egocentric Hushovd, but i understand him. Sastre will do nothing in the Tour, and Hushovd might be the saviour for Cervelo this year, as he was last year.
