Yes and all the references to "the greatest athlete of all time” etc. ala Lance and his books in 2009. Its obviously a way to milk some more cash from Hog and LA.

I'm not getting the connection.

No but you won't have to wait long.

I heard LA got him a Michelob Ultra sponsorship. He will be promoting his new foundation, Livedrunk. Instead of classical wristbands, they will sell used six pack rings cut down into bracelets..

I actually like FLandis, and I would like to see him come back. His stupidity is starting to get to me, though. Sleepwalking through last season was just dumb. If we are to believe Michael Ball--which is probably asking to be deceived--Landis somehow blew a deal with Rock after quiting OUCH. Blowing off the French hacking investigation when he likely could have answered questions by saying he did not know anything about the hacking or what people involved in his defense might have done on their own was also stupid.

please tell me it's not the Bahati Foundation team.

Prepare to be disappointed. Velonews is reporting it.

FLandis looks like he is nearing the end of the line.

I just lost respect for the team. This smells of using FLandis for marketing purposes meaning that they don't care about clean cycling. Not what I want out of role models.

FLandis is probably clean now. He cannot afford the dope. :)

How much money can he be getting paid by a team sponsored by law and real estate firms plus donations?

oh he was probably clean last year but as soon as moolah comes in, he'll be on the juice again.

Well, the team does have slick pr campaign happening so that takes money.

They already had Nathan O'Neill on board, who was dinged for two years...

Landis joins Bahati Foundation

By: Cycling News Published: March 10, 01:23[/B]

Landis will serve two roles - as rider and ambassador for the Bahati Foundation, with the organisation aiming to 'support inner-city youth and garnering positive attention through his [Landis'] success on the bike'.

The move comes after Landis had made moves to join Rock Racing in an attempt to return to European racing given that Michael Ball's outfit received a Professional Continental licence. He only competed in the team's uniform once however, at the Tour of the Bahamas.

oh I had forgotten that's where he ended up. role models indeed

What would prompt that comment? We are all human, and in that we are not perfect at all. We can all lead by our present examples, not our pasts. We all can be role models. I know you have all done wrong either deliberately or by accident. No one is above that. Even the members on this board. Most of whom have never raced a bike professionally but instead prefer to lurk on boards like this, passing judgement on everyone else like it's some kind of shootout. You all are so high and mighty- Until you've been there and done it, it's pretty hard to know what you'd do. Armchair sportsmen, gotta love em. (sarcasm).

Oi plonker, you brought it on yourself.

Your commentary suggests that cynicism is strong with you, but you cannot be surprised when you've cast stones around then whinge when someone lobs one your way.

They have a term for blokes like you; Gob****e

Grow some gonads or ****off.

English not your strong suit is it? I was calling him a hypocrite nothing more.

To get back to the question, did the riders that were beat by O'Neil get his prize money? How's that for cynicism.

Probably not.

There are injustices in the world. I spent almost 14 months in (and around) darfur. Feck, get a grip on reality. put your prize purse justice in your pipe and smoke it, then come back and tell us how it was.

on point, O'Neil's pos was a half-arsed mistake it seems, he even got a reduced sentence. it was not a banned substance out of competition.

Not trying to defend the guy or justify his actions, per se, just wanted to pick on you a bit as you come off as a real pruner.

a pruner why? because I dislike dopers... you're right I do. It was a substance that was banned in competition and he served a full 2-year suspension, not a reduced sentence.

but go ahead, keep on insulting me as it seems to amuse you, as for me, I find it boring.

It does amuse me, like watching children at a playground cry about a toy.

now, you've confirmed for me you to be not only a whiner but one lacking facts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_O'Neill

parsed relevant quote on suspension length. FTW

"On 13 June 2008 the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled that O'Neill bore "no significant negligence" in registering a positive finding for Phentermine, and was given a 15 month suspension, from 12 August 2007 – 12 November 2008."

Took 10 seconds to confirm what I recalled as correct. took less time to confirm the obvious slagging you've posted.

sigh, I guess you need to practice your google skills and and not everything on wikipedia is correct.

From http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/oneill-set-to-return-with-bahati-foundation-team

"While the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) found that O'Neill was at "no significant fault" for the doping positive and attempted to levy a 15-month reduced ban, which would have allowed him to race the 2009 season, an appeal by ASADA, the UCI and the World Anti-Doping Agency resulted in a full two-year ban with an effective end-date of June 13, 2010."

so who's whiner now?
