Pretty high pace from Porte all the way up until 2 km to go. Rest was Alberto. Talansky/Froome also climbed 6.2 W/kg or something like that. Probably tailwind.
Verbier was 6.8 - 6.9 W for 20 minutes.

That's nature and there's nothing that you can do about it. At least for another 2,000,000 million years.
LaFlorecita said:Yeah the original calculation was 7 W/kg. Re-calculation showed it was more likely 6.2-6.3 W/kg because there was a massive tailwind & the road was less steep than originally thought![]()

Other sources had 7.2 W/kg. It varies. There was a good tailwind that's true. Though I don't believe it makes the W value decrease by 0.5 - 0.7 W/kg. Not compared to neutral/ no wind. Compared to headwind sure.

What does he have to loose? The Tour? Well, now if he wins the Tour, people can say it was because he focused exlusively on the French race. But this was a position taken by Armstrong, so why not try to break that mold?
If all the favorites did both, it would be even better. It's sad fact that the commerical interests have taken over the real "heroicism."
Red Rick said:Didn't he do like 6.5 on the penultimate climb of the last stage? That performance was pretty crazy, even though he lost the DL there. He was really dropping everyone left and right
Christian said:The Giro-Tour thing is Tinkov's idea and why does he push this so far down our throats every time he does an interview? Of course it is only publicity and commercial interests. Tinkov is a clown and other teams and riders shouldn't stoop to his level. His whole million dollar offer is pathetic, it's like Donald Trump offering a million dollars for Obama's birth certificate.
I am not a Froomeboy or Skybot, I just think the fact that he (or any other team or rider) hasn't taken Tinkov up on this ridiculous bet is not a cowardly thing to do... Tinkov is entitled to do his clown show, other teams do things their way... it's all good

I wouldn't be surprised if he wins the double, just without that PR crap, media attention seeking, and against very strong fields.
Of course more ITTs (why is there so few in GTs this year?) wont help but if he doesnt lose much on cobbles he is a favorite in TdF imho, same in Vuelta
