We will so block the race.

And we will enjoy this.

Do it. I might even come over from the Netherlands and join. This is about so much more than just cycling, but about psychopath bullies getting away with anything they want. Whether it is letting the economical market implode or ride yourself to glory in one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The narcissism, the total lack of empathy and utter disrespect for human dignity - I can no longer watch all that's ugly persevere. Enough is enough.

He will not see the summit of Alpe d'Huez anyway.

Fcuk cycling. I hope it burns now
It is cruel to see what the consequences of the decision are for those who had invested such personal emotion and expectation in a different result. One had only to read the rule to see what rubbish it is as a pece of draftsmanship and it will now have to be rewritten so that one way or another it can be applied in real time in the real world.

Re: Re:

There is a giant pink elephant in the room and we're all supposed to ignore it. We now know for a fact that Froome abuses the salbutamol regulations and that it helped him win the Vuelta, but not even the win is stripped. Just outrageous. UCI can expect a big claim from Ulissi and Petacchi in the mail.

We don't know that. We don't know what evidence was presented and accepted.

Actually, that was not the outcome, was it? As La Gazetta dello Sport reported (translated): "Too many gray areas in the rules, which will now have to be rewritten." So no, you don't know that.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all, but it really does look as if ASO pushed the UCI to come to a (favorable) decision. What was so complex about Froome's case that it couldn't have been decided, say, over the winter?

For cycling's sake, someone needs to leak the details (or UCI needs to lay it out) why the AAF was a big nothingburger.

Yes, we do. Froome himself said he used more of the salbutamol that day, because of an "acute asthma attack". At least, that was one of his countless versions of events. Another was that he inhaled some after the stage before the interview. Taking into account these two explanations (and the contradiction), can you not see he uses it to gain an unfair advantage? The day before the test he got dropped like a stone. The day of the test he was riding with the best again. It helped him win the race. Nibali should have won that Vuelta.
