I just don't see why they had to disrespect Bjarne and badmouth him afterwards.

Well I think the whole Vuelta fiasco also played a big part in that. Tbh I don't recall so much badmouthing besides that, and even that was relatively tame (along the lines of "I don't agree with it, but he is the boss and he makes the decisions"). The most memorable was Cancellara's "you realize you are not yourself anymore around him" which is not necessarily slandering either but maybe genuinely how he felt ...

As I said, it's just surprising to me considering their family background.

It really doesn't matter does it. If they came out with the yellow pages answer there would be posts on here how stupid they are given the uncertainty of the true origin.

It's a fun video, harmless and amusing. I guess some people just can't see past their dislike for the Schlecks and enjoy a piece of off season nonsense:(

It's the colour of the paper used by l'Auto , now l'Equipe, was printed on.

The brothers Schleck are charming, as this video evidences. It makes me wonder at the criticisms and active venom spouted on this forum by some members. Why the hate? What have they done wrong?

From a state of indifference, I am now a new convert as a result of this video.

The lady was pure genius btw. I'm in awe.h

I know right, they are actually really nice guys. Plenty of riders use most of the season to train for the tdf. Don't see why people always hate on the Schlecks because of this..

Not likely with the mass majority of fans believing the alleged mythical version. I didn't find the video all that funny but humour is a personal thing.

I know but surely you can enjoy the nonsense of it. Nothing like it out there involving any other riders not taking themselves that seriously and having a laugh.

I lost all respect for Andy Schleck when he mocked Robert Millar for being a vegetarian, saying something like "I guess now he's a woman, right?".

But hey, I'm sure he's a nice guy and all.

I'm the biggest Millar fan on here and I didn't find that comment particularly offensive in the context it was made. Crass yes if it was meant but it wasn't. It was an answer during another rather light hearted interview in English. Keep trying to find a reason to dislike the Schlecks though if it helps:(

I dislike Andy because he's an idiot. Fränk is alright in my book.

Personally I take time to find out why I think someone is an idiot and usually find that they aren't. They just think about things and have a different, equally valid, opinion as mine.

Either he seriously believes all vegetarians eventually become transsexuals or he was joking ... hard to tell though!!

He also speaks more languages than you ever will, so ...

Ridiculous. I doubt Millar was offended by that joke... i mean come on.. it's a joke. I doubt Andy really disrespects Robert Millar because he's a vegetarian and likes to dress up like a woman. That's not the impression he gave me when he made that joke. It's just a joke.. pfff

The lead up to that comment was very relaxed and jovial and Millar becoming a woman is certainly one of those silly cycling urban myths, so I'd definitely give them the benefit of the doubt. Note that if Ferryman is the biggest Bob Millar fan on the forum, he must be a huge fan, since seeing Bob in the mountains led me to becoming a cycling fan.

Nice to see the Schlecks have a distance to themselves.

I always thought that knowledge of the cycling tradition is handed down was the knowledge of the history of the sport.

The reason why the Yellow jersey is yellow is so well known that for the Schlecks not to know this seems pathetic, but signing up with Hog rubber stamps that.

This.

+100% I've always had a quiet liking for Frank thanks to his post AGR win interview. Now that was hilarious. :D

I used to be a Schleck fangirl. I even defended their right to leave Bjarne Riis to start their new team based in their homecountry. But I didn't like the way they did it, I don't see they have a reason to bear a grudge against Bjarne, he did a lot for them. And the way they behaved in the 2011 tour, Andy in particular, I didn't find charming at all. Bad excuses, lack of respect for the competition, Andy feeling entitled to the victory. I think Andy looked more and more like a spoiled brat.

Then the Radioshack merger came, and that was when I lost any sympathy for the Schlecks. Many people, not only riders but other staff too, had left good secure jobs to help form team Leopard. They trusted that it would exist for at least four years as promised. Less than a year later they are out of job while the fickle Schleck brothers are praising Bruyneels good qualities as a DS in the press. They don't care that they let all the people down who believed in them. They just want to be big in the US.

Very well said

I should like to know how Cancellara genuinely feels about riding for Bruyneel.

I took time too. My opinion on him has been slowly building up with two years of hearing and reading the BS he says and watching him use the most frustratingly stupid tactics I can think of. It's not like I got up one morning and decided I hated him. I liked him in 2007-2009.

well said. The British are good at whining so it's not really surprising that he is whining!

Didn't anyone else think that the cause of Andy's drenched arm pits was because the woman asking the questions hit too close to home?
