May as well start this thread now — one-stop shopping for general team news & updates.

To begin, here's a nice HD video featuring JV and his riders reflecting on 2011 and looking towards 2012.

JOURNEY TO A DREAM
Sponsored by Clif Bar "Journey To A Dream" was first shown at the Garmin Cervelo Team Presentation in Boulder Colorado in November 2011.

I hope that Rasmussen can continue development ITT wise. I also think Wegmann has a chance to do something, though he will not win an Ardennes race. I would love to see Vanmarcke top 10 at P-R. I think Farrar will also win the Olympic RR though i hope Goss does.

I also hope Haas can develop. I'm sure he could win on a small hill.

I'd like to see Hesjedal's schedule.

At first he was eyeing every early stage races (TDU,Tirreno,Pays Basque) and the classics before the Tour.
BUT now that he wants to do the Giro, he might have changed his calendar.

(still, he showed in 2010 that he can keep a high level of form for a long time so may be he still rides the classics at 100%)

I'm curious to see if he can be as good as in 2010 after an unlucky year.

You been taking pictures at their training camp/ team holiday this year too?

Also big respect to Garmin for continuing to sponsor the cycling team, and one that probably has more interest in the classics than the TDF, and generally is strong all year round at that. US sponsors have tended to prioritise TDF more than most.

Going to be the 5th year now and its a pretty big company by cycling standards.

No need. With pics like this from the Team Presentation, I've got more than enough material for leverage to get me through the Spring Classics in 2012. :D

Speaking of my boy Christian, this thread wouldn't be right without including his latest clip. All class.

There was an article on Maaskant today about how he's feeling good for the classics next year. Hopefully he can stay out of harms way and have a good year.

As lame as this sounds, as soon as Garmin started sponsoring a team, I went out and bought one of their products 6 weeks later.

When their sponsorship with POM started, I began to be a regular POM drinker.

At last year's ToC, when the TT ended, I went around the team buses asking for bottles. At the Garmin bus, I didn't ask for one, but they gave me a poster and some cards from the riders. A while later, a guy peeked out and was waving a bottle in my direction. He threw it, and I caught it. I noticed that the bottle had something inside. I was thinking it might have been some riders' leftover drink or something. I opened it, and smelled what was inside. To my amazement, the liquid inside the bottle was ****. I quickly went to the handwash station and washed it well with soap and water, then with bleach when I got home and from then, used it several times.

100% true story

That's what I was afraid of! :D

Sooner or later, JV had better weigh in on this thread. Now I've got a few more questions for him.

But now that I think about it, you should've had the contents of that bottle tested! :p

That didn't even cross my mind. But it would have been a good idea. It's a good thing I didn't go right ahead and drink out of it too. Later, I also got one from Saxo-Bank, the thing was full. But this time, it was some purple-ish drink. I had to look before I drank.

I think Garmin could go well next year. Haussler for M-SR/ RVV/ P-R and Farrar as well for M-SR. They would also have good riders to form a train for them. Dan martin can then form a double pronged attack with Hesjedal at the Ardennes Classics. Hesjedal then goes to the Giro and gets a position in the top 10. CVV goes well at the TDF whilst Martin chases the goal of winning the KOM.

They have good options for smaller stage races throughout the year.

I love your story.

Haussler should be their number one guy for MSR

I want to see how they're going to ride Roubaix given that they have the defending champion.

I hope Tommy D. can win something this year. I would say it's going to be his year, but I don't want to jinx him.

You should change that to stay healthy for a year or not fall off the bike and get injured. After one safe year, I think your hope is going to jinx him in one way or another.

I hope that Maaskant will have a successful injury-free Classics campaign. I always liked that rider.

Given the amount of TT kilometers at the Tour, and the more I think of it, I want Zabriskie to kind of target a good spot on GC.

I'd rather Hesjedal targeted the Ardennes eriously than the Giro. If he tries both I'm afraid that he'll sacrifice the Ardennes for the Giro, and I think he stands a better chance in the Ardennes.
