Given the way he reacted when he lost in Sanremo, it seems that just edges it.

From his latest blog:
I think about that day [2009] all the time if I'm honest.

Having three leaders is a great position to be in and you can bet that if all three of us make it over the climbs in the leading group we won't be racing each other.http://www.cyclingnews.com/blogs/heinrich-haussler/im-not-going-to-milan-san-remo-to-finish-second-or-third

Now I can't wait! :)

You poor little Victorian ****er. I bet you were one of those that loved the 'State of Origin' game too?

"Autralian" football if you mentioned it anywhere in NSW or QLD would bring to mind Rugby League which is the dominant code (and there's a lot of people along that coast).

Australian Rules football on the hand, can not be mixed up, especially now with 'football' meaning the actual football (assoc.) code now.

No, you're right. I just changed what i said.

thats ridiculous . . . better riders deserve to be better paid

btw if by "australia football" you mean real football as in the european one then i guess that can't be used as an example. the european cycling scene would be better off compared to the european football scene. australian football i below european football on so many levels that i am not even able to put it into words

Australian footy is as you say not football but football with an easter egg it has its followers and great spectator sport with very litle skill.

I was a Liverpool supporter in my younger days but in Australia I do what Australians do (watch Liverpool on TV) and I ride my bike in a red top.

The issu I raised is that teams have a squad each of aproximatly 22 riders in all. The team with most money can poach all the best riders from other teams.

But if all teams in Pro Tour list had a salery cap total amount they can spend on riders for the year being the whole team then the best are shared around to compeet against each other in oposing teams. the best riders can call for top sallery wherever they ride it just means that the team with more money
dosnt win just because they can buy the win with having more top riders.

Cervelo Garmin have combined with two top teams and taken up a lot of the cream of cycling who should be compeeting against each other in different teams. I dont know what the top guys are paid at Cervelo but if there were less big names then they would have more money to go around.

Garmin Cervelo: A case of too many chiefs and not enough Indians? It is really starting to become evident that it can be detrimental to a team to have too many leaders/chiefs and not enough domestiques/indians. Lets break the team down...

Early season Classics Leaders (OHV-PR)
Farrar
Haussler
Hammond
Hushovd
Klier
Maaskant
Millar
van Summeren

Sprinters
Farrar
Hushovd
Haussler

General Classification riders
Danielson (yes BroDeal, he counts:p)
Hesjedal
Le Mevel
Vandevelde
Talansky
Martin

An upcoming example of having too many leaders is in MSR. You have Haussler, Hushovd and Farrar who could all win it in their own right who all recquire the finish to be a sprint. It seems redundant to have all of them in the same team for MSR. Same will apply when they come to Roubaix or Flanders

The general classification rider amount may seem a lot but isn't the main problem here.

I don't see how they will satisfy all riders ambitions. I think it is inevitable that they will lose some big riders next year. This is due to riders getting offered bigger contracts from opposing teams and general tension amongst riders who will not be able to fufill their goals and talent.

I ultimately see their season being a failure unless they win something big and ride strongly in the other classics. I am still not convinced that it will work out

What are peoples opinions of Garmin Cervelo's classics prospects?

ok we get it you are on top of pro cycling and all that..... props I guess, open ended questions like you are directing the forum.. bla blah

but please at some point if you are going to start a thread with a statement at least support it

How exactly is it " really starting to become evident that it can be detrimental to a team to have too many leaders/chiefs and not enough domestiques/indians"

let me help. start every thread with "i intend to prove that....." then add " I will do this by showing that....''

for f sake

I intend to prove that Boeing takes posting on message boards way too seriously.

I will do this by quoting the above post.

It's not a term paper you know.

Apparently you can not imagine the immensity of the F... that he does, in fact, give. :D

I'm not sure why I'm jumping into this but..
Boeing, chill dude. I couldn't help but notice that you're in ACF/Cadel attack mode today. Why? The Garmin thread has generated plenty of good responses. It shouldn't require much more validation than that.

Question: Do you even own a bike?
Who cares?
I could easily imagine ACF out on his BMC SLR01, in full kit, attacking every climb until he can no longer breathe. Or maybe he doesn't even own a bike and just loves the sport. Does it matter?

please move this thread to general. as usual it is misleading and out of context

a topic about a forum poster started by the same poster is not worthy of "professional cycling"
First part: Fair enough, and it seems the Mods obviously listened.
Second part: In all fairness, ACF did not start the thread, although it does appear that way. He was posting in the "Evans' approach" thread and the Mods duplicated and re-posted his landmark in a new thread as a good gesture. That's all.

I enjoy a lot of your posts, and I get a good laugh every single time I see your signature.
But now I have to wonder if that really is your creed or not. :p

Just try to roll with this ACF thing a bit. It's more fun. I promise. ;)
(And being that it's all a part of this forum anyway, like most topics, it will most likely only have a brief shelf life).
