I know the Dutchies have just signed for two more years. Although I don't know about the conditions if the team as such doesn't exist anymore.ingsve said:And we also doesn't know if they can or will keep all their current best riders. Are Van Summeren, Maaskant, Martin, Millar, Zabriskie and Kreder for example all staying put?
ingsve said:Wouldn't that go against his current trend of building for GC rather than classics?
In my mind they would be better off going to Saxo Bank or Team Sky. Or even Team Schlux.
ttrider said:yeah but if the merger is simply the 4 best classics men from cervelo it cant all be bad news, 4 extra people wont take away to many opportunitys so long as 4 not so good people are released, I suggest:
Pate
Ricardo Vandervelde
Actually im not sure they seem to have a number of very good rider and then a load of crap who dont appear to be any better than american domestic level racers, fitting in 4 people should be no issue
taiwan said:Hm, It's just something that Boonen said about the type of riders he would liek to see signed. QS have lost some riders, and the spring classics were a one man show even this year.
Anyhow, how are they building a GC team beyond signing Marc De Maar?
But Sky and Saxo could also do worse.

ingsve said:Kessiakoff was also supposed to be an addition to their GC oriented team but he has been struggling with exhaustion all year pretty much. He came from MTB and rode over 90 competition days last year and that was a little too much it seems. I wonder if he still has a contract or if he is open to the market. I wouldn't mind him going to Sky to team up with Löfkvist personally.

Willy_Voet said:I've always wondered how a boutique brand bicycle company could afford all that talent. It wasn't an mega-team, but still, how many R3s or S3s did they have to sell in a year to pay for Hushovd, Sastre and Hausler?
Bala Verde said:I wonder what the reason behind the (if true) 'implosion', collapse, downsizing of CTT is... Some have mentioned financial difficulties?
They started when, 2009? I find it hard to believe the budget they drew up before their entry into the pro peloton, did not look a number of years ahead. Unless the financial crisis had some unexpected impact on their finances?![]()
I can't deny that this is true. The future will change. How, that's a question for me as well. I expect us to quit altogether, but at this time I can't really say anything with certainty.

As for the rest, im assuming they are going to get into bed with the schlecks if so. Im more concerned about where this leaves the ladies team than the mens team to be honest. Although i imagine that financially the girls are much more cost effective.
This is good news, I was worried that if the team merged with Garmin we'd be left with the likes of Claudia Häusler wasting half their season racing US domestic races and not getting to do Trentino, Emakumeen Bira or most of the World Cup events, the same as how we've seen little of Amber Neben or Mara Abbott this year.De vrouwenformatie - waarmee het wieleravontuur ooit begon - zou wel blijven bestaan.
