is this spanish authorities protecting their own.................or a serious undermining of bio passport?

'no actual evidence of doping' is pretty straight forward but was any explanation of anomilies in bio passport

forwarded.....................as henao?

That is a great question. We already know that the Spanish authorities are willing to protect their own.

Bridge? The card game ... yep - doped to the gills! :)

Extract of the Ruling of the Hearing of the WBF Antidoping Panel held on 11th February 2019 in Lausanne at the Maison Du Sport International.

In compliance with the provisions of the Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency, a number of samples were obtained from Players participating in the World Bridge Series held in Orlando in 2018. On 29th September 2019, Geir Helgemo provided a sample that was sent for laboratory testing; the results identified an Adverse Analytical Finding with the presence of Clomifene and synthetic Testosterone that constituted an Anti-Doping Rule Violation as specified within the World Bridge Federation Anti-Doping Rules.

As a consequence of the laboratory analysis, an anti-doping charge was brought against the player; he accepted that he had committed the violation and accepted a provisional suspended pending consideration by the Anti-Doping Panel. He provided details of how the prohibited substances may have come to be present in his system.

anyone know exactly what betsema was busted for?

i'm reading comments that she should be let off 'like froome' although the case is not alike

..........no acceptable level

such a shame...........betsema was such a highlight of the season........
some steroids were mentioned ("Endogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroid(s) administered exogenously"). it's still an AAF so she will have a chance to explain the finding and then there will be a decision whether her explanation will be accepted/enough. if not, it'll become a "doping violation" and she'll be banned.

Hoo, boy, we've heard of a cocaine positive explained by kissing, and the Gil Roberts probenecid case, but how about a positive from sexual intercourse?

Incidental exposure through intimate contact isn’t just limited to kissing. An International Olympic Committee (IOC) testing facility found traces of clostebol metabolites in an athlete’s urine; he claimed that “he was contaminated as a result of sexual intercourse with a woman taking a medication containing clostebol.” This isn’t impossible; in Brazil, clostebol acetate can be found in dermatologic and gynecologic creams. Trofodermin is clostebol acetate formulated for intravaginal administration; it contains 200 mg of clostebol acetate and 200 mg of neomycin sulfate in a 40 g package, and the recommended dose is 5 g once or twice a day.

An IOC-certified laboratory investigated the possibility of inadvertent exposure to clostebol during sexual activity, conducting a study examining exposure to clostebol during sexual intercourse versus direct topical application. In group one, comprising two heterosexual couples, both women received 5 g of the clostebol formulation. These two couples had sexual intercourse for 20 minutes (we should note that it is not clear if vaginal to oral transmission was studied). A second group, comprising two men, applied 200 mg of clostebol acetate topically to their penis for 20 minutes. Urine was collected for the following two days from both groups.

Although both men in the second group had higher amounts of a single, long-term clostebol metabolite, all four men’s urine contained trace amounts of the same clostebol metabolite for up to 15 hours after administration; this trace amount was near the limit of detection, which would have resulted in a positive test, confirming the possibility of inadvertent doping with clostebol via sexual contact.

Why would you ever admit training with Piepoli?

Him and Ricco are easily the most tanted riders of the last generation.

are they, though? what makes them any more tainted then the countless ex-dopers employed by almost every team in the world tour? Bettiol's own team employs admitted ex-doper Andreas Klier right out in the open.

Jarrell Miller said he "messed up" and has apologised after a failed drugs test saw his June fight against Anthony Joshua called off.

Miller was due to meet British IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Joshua, 29, at Madison Square Garden on 1 June.

He was denied a licence for the New York bout after an "adverse finding" from a sample taken on 20 March.

Then after a second adverse finding was reported on Friday, the 30-year-old American admitted: "I made a bad call."
...
Miller had vehemently denied wrongdoing, insisting: "The facts will prevail and I shall be vindicated.

"My team and I stand for integrity, decency and honesty and we will fight this with everything we have."

That came after returning the initial adverse result from the 20 March sample and his team were awaiting the results of a test on a B sample for banned substances.

Then on Friday, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said Miller had "failed a second separate test for a further substance".

Hearn said he had been informed of Miller's second adverse finding by the the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (Vada), which operates within boxing and mixed martial arts.

The 20 March sample showed traces of a substance called GW1516, which is banned because it can improve aerobic power and endurance.

Sports broadcaster ESPN has reported the second finding revealed human growth hormone (HGH), which can aid muscle building and recovery. It has also claimed Miller has failed a third test.

Must be a first to fail 3 tests!

Molly, Sweden's anti-doping dog, gives cheats new problem to chew on

Sweden’s Sports Confederation says Molly is the world’s first anti-doping dog, introduced to the job last spring in a bid to broaden the country’s efforts in curtailing the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sport.

“She’s a search dog so she’s trained exactly the same as a dog for customs, for example, for narcotics,” Swedish doping control officer Michael Sjoo, also Molly’s handler, said.
...
The doping control officer expects other dogs will be trained like Molly as authorities seek new ways to nab cheats. Earlier this year the UK Anti-Doping organization said it was looking at the use of sniffer dogs at sporting events.

Jagartrott and myself posted a message in the General News thread in the Professional Road Racing forum, concerning a study from the University of Leuven, concerning the use of ketones. More context in the original posts: viewtopic.php?p=2351530#p2351530

(updated link after new forum: https://forum.cyclingnews.com/threads/general-news-thread.4180/page-444#post-2351889 )

Since it's not considered to be doping (and not on the doping list) it's probably best to discuss it in the other topic. Nevertheless, since it can bring tremendous gains, i thought it'd be good to at least mention it here.
