Instead the illustrious Lars Boom will ( when he could easily win the Prologue at the TDF, support Gesink/ Kruijswijk/ Mollema and maybe go for another stage ) to prepare for the Olympics. At least he should end up winning overall ( his Tour of Britain win demonstrates that ).

National Events do not need UCI branding, it's just that ProTour and ProContinental teams can't do them. So just like when Team Mellow Johnny had to rock into town because Radioshack couldn't enter the Tour of the Gila when it wasn't UCI, but Colavita, Bissell and co could, Sky can't enter the Tour Series but Rapha Condor, Endura, Raleigh and co will be contesting it as usual.

like virtually all russians/east europeans early physical peak. popovych, petrov, ignatief, brutt, trousov, kostyuk, lukasz bodnar, kvachuk, peter mazur, etc etc etc and soon also someone like michal kwiatkowski. sagan is also one but his level is already so extremely high

I think that is to do with their backgrounds, they're pushed so hard so early. Grabovskyy spoke how when he moved to Italy and when he turned pro for Quick Step he said he often felt bored as he was used to training in the morning, going to school and doing more training, usually on the rollers in the afternoon, and with this spare time, he started to drink and eat the wrong food too much.
