He's whined and moaned about the money way too many times for it to be believable though.

Just wondering if anybody knows the drop dead date for riders to bail on the Rio games? Do you have to give a certain amount of notice to your federation? I am also wondering what the climate ramp up is for favorite riders? How many days ahead of time do they need to be in Brazil to be " climatized?
I really have no idea who the favorite is...

Tour de Higuito (Costa Rica) will take place on UCI calendar in 2017, in partnership with ASO. 4 stages, 1 week after California, so it will almost certainly be 2.1 class, at least.
