Don't think I've ever seen a stage race before that has two stages finishing in the same town this many days apart.

The final stage looks absolutely stellar, why can't they do stuff like this with the big boys' Tour? Or in any professional women's race, for that matter?

I think you might have missed the last 4 words in Devil's Elbow's sentence.

No. Two stage finishes this many (two) days apart. Or... the Saint-Dizier finishes were only 1 day apart...
But can't be about Paris either way, given that it was the start (and finish?) city of the first, and (of course) the last stage of the 2003 TdF, which is more days about that l'Avenir (or any non-GT stage race) can ever have two stages.

How on earth is the Valle d'Aosta consistently getting better stages in junior races than in GTs...
Guess for GTs it's bigger ski stations with bigger flatter climbs piling in the money? At least in some cases, but I think Champoluc was always gonna deliver a bad race because even Tzecore would have been 3 climbs out. The one time the Giro decided to go near Colle San Carlo it dit take it.

I guess junior distances also makes organisers more creative, or at least more likely to look for steeper and shorter climbs to throw in there.

Also, the junior race probably isn't occupied with keeping GC close for the upcoming Finestre stage.

I missed that the Tour de l'Avenir route was presented last week. It's great!

(except for TTers)

By the way, the alimetry had me very confused cause La Thuile is at 1400m altitude so it made me thin they do a lot more climber after CSC than they actually do.

Not sure where quite to post this but Annemiek is expecting her first child in September 🥰

One of the worst kept secrets in cycling... nonetheless, great for her.
