Danes not even sending a TT team to Rwanda, along with missing the U23 and Junior races. Cost of travelling to a different continent is apparently the issue, but I don't remember this being the case for Doha, Richmond, or any in Australia.

I'd rather they were honest about the reasons they're skipping the race, otherwise it just feels a bit insulting and directly related to the fact it's in Africa rather than, say, sponsor-friendly Qatar. I think it's unfair to treat a Rwanda WC as less important than others.
There's a link to an article explaining it all. Think it's in Jonas thread.

This doesn't explain much at all, they still send people to Aus where their best result was 14th. And won't Vingegaard/Skjelmose be in Rwanda for the road race anyway?

That's before getting into the matter of skipping the youth races.

I think the costs do differ though, much of Africa is surprisingly expensive. Plus the calendar is less forgiving this time around.

Neither Vingegaard nor Skjelmose will ride the ITT because of the date.

Just looking ahead to the Tour of Britain and wow the start list (in terms of teams anyway) looks to be of a really high level.

It's always a bit of a worry when you see the quality of start lists for a race begin to drop and that was the case in 2024 when there were just four WT teams, three PCTs, some devos and a fairly random selection of CTs. Don't get me the wrong, the racing was pretty good from what I remember (mainly because of Evenepoel and Alaphilippe it has to be said), but it must be a boost to the organizers that so many big teams are coming this year (9 WT, 8 PCTs).

From the reports I heard over a year ago concerning costs I'm surprised anybody is sending a team.
The impression was the teams were just going to be gouged at every opportunity.
