Another race where the likes of Jordan jaget are unfairly disadvantaged due to the inclusion of a TTT which nobody wants to watch. No wonder everyone goes to the same 2 teams

Is the problem with TTT that richer teams extrapolate their gains because they just have more riders that are better than teams with less money? So basically pay to win

To me it's the thing that the rich teams can have the best helpers, which are both - good climbers and decent to good or very good TT riders.
Thus they don't need to sacrifice.
Whereas smaller teams have to choose which area to strengthen, thus further weakening of the already weaker support they provide.

Overall I am a fan of the Dauphine route. Like some of the others I don’t like team trials but if one is in the Tour, one might as well be in the Dauphine. Beyond that there are four proper mountain stages. I love stage 1. I love the closing sequence of stage 6 and 7. Do you those climbs on stage 6 are tough enough to drop the non pure climbers?

Personally I love how easy it was to get a hotel on a finishing climb in the Dauphine as opposed to the Tour which is so hard to do. I am thinking if I go, it’ll be to stage 6 just because it’s close to other places I am planning on visiting,

This is a logical opinion, I agree with it but also winning is an experience on it's own. Smaller teams with less funding, less depth in my opinion should target races to win rather than constantly show up to be matched against A squads from UAE, Visma, Alpecin, Trek..
Go to smaller races and learn how to win, go beat Isaac Del Toro in smaller French, Italian, Spanish races and stop showing up to get destroyed by Remco, Pogacar small teams get something from that experience, but they never practice winning when A squad with Pogacar shows up.
Personally I still have not figured out why smaller teams don't groom schedule to make races like TDU or Alula have a weight value of TDF for them, throw everything at a smaller race trying to win, get exposure.
If I was a small team I would go all in on trying to beat Narvarez or Vine and wait on showing up to races that have Pogacar , Remco level talent.. If I was running a small team I would look at Pogacar's schedule and go anywhere else, try to avoid top @5-8 riders and not waste money as a participant with no real possibility of winning.

It costs something travelling down under.

Nowhere near doing a grand tour.. Start money for TDF is less than @$70,000 dollars. Less for Giro and less for Vuelta. Don't know what they pay for TDU but likely only a few thousand dollars and all the spiffs like transport and lodging. I will see if I can find start money figures for Tour Down Under. There was a few interesting tidbits on a few The Move podcasts about how start money for TDF during Armstrong era was mid $50s I think that back then it was @$55,000 and it really has not kept pace. The number of staff, bikes, misc expenses during Armstrong era was @30% less..I think that they said that there are nearly @35-40 people you need to pull off a race like TDF. I don't know how many people UAE for example bring to Australia for the days before and few days after race. I remember reading that start money was @$40,000 for Tour of California. At that time it must have been decent because teams were enthusiastic.

I often watch other sports with absolute heartbreak like Farmers Insurance golf tournament in San Diego..
The winner got @$1.7 million for 3 days of play.. And speaking of Down Under
You don't have to look too far to see why no sport would do anything in a similar fashion to the UCI!
Lots of these other sports that have multi day formats are @3-7 days of competition.

Absolutely crushing, hours raced over 3 weeks and winner gets tiny fraction of other top athletes.
LeBron James makes $850,000+.....per week... Per week
Very interesting TdF breakdown, thanks.

If you really want to act like prize money is the primary way cyclists are rewarded for their efforts, I would kindly encourage you to uninstall cycling.
