What I don't get is how Sky can be happy with such a situation. Had they ridden smarter, they could've had 4-5 guys in a group of 20. Instead they let a group of 12 go, which included Sagan, and only Eisel from Sky.

It's like they don't even want to win. Eisel could only manage 6th even with no pulls at the front. There was simply no way they could get a victory from that situation, and even a podium spot was highly unrealistic.

With the strength in numbers Sky have, they shouldn't be satisfied before they have a numerical advantage. That's the only way in which they can pull of a victory.

Niether do I. The guy spoils everything by acting like a ***. I hope Canc teaches him a proper lesson next week. Has fast become my least favorite rider.

Yeah your completely right, how dare he celebrate his victory! He should just roll through without any victory salute!

He followed the wheel he was asked to follow all day long. OPQS don't know how to ride other than shooting off in to breaks. He'd be riding with 2 MSR wins if Chav had sat up last week.

Didn't think I'd say this, but Pisti's right. Sure, Cav probably didn't give the sprint for the placement his all as opposed to if it had been for the victory, but the very fact he was outsprinted there means that we can't take it as read that he WOULD have won. Besides, Chav had a chance of going to the line with just him and Stannard, why would you sit up and take the bunch sprint?

Why would anyone hate Sagan. Because he's so effin' good? Makes no sense.

He seems very good natured. No ill will toward Cancellera at E3 when he was on the podium below him there. Just a young guy, exuberant.

I do not know why I inexplicably hate Sagan, but I do, although he is fun to watch and a great talent. For whatever reason I just hate him.

Eisel was the only one who pulled really hard chasing Sagan. That surely cost him in the sprint for 2nd.

Genuinely disappointed you alligned yourself to such a dimwitted argument.

He finished about 10th in the peloton today. Must have lost his sprint.

Cav NEVER wins the bunch sprint when the main event is over. And he doesn't get beat by AK when it matters either. Debating either of those points is just purile.

As I said at the time, Chav could have sat up at the top of the Poggio when they were caught and the peloton was only 10 seconds behind.

Some of the people here who are having a go at Sagan for simply being himself and trying to have a good time really need to have a long-hard look at themselves and ask if they're becoming the cycling equivalent of the Christmas Grinch

Gods, literally nobody with any brains in that break.

Very easy to agree. First the worked when they shouldn't and then nobody chases when should. F'ckin idiots. :(

Thing is he's not just celebrating his victory, there's nothing wrong with that - everyone celebrates wins. Sagan is different though, he is celebrating in a way to draw attention to the celebration - no one else does that, and it's definitely going to rub a lot of people up the wrong way.

How can you not like Sagan? He did most of the work in the breakaway, and powered away from everybody when he was completely isolated. He tried that in MSR as well, only to have Canc close the gap immediately.

Now he finally gets the reward he deserves and does a nice MTB victory salute on the line. Thanking his teammates as well, I'd be glad to ride for him. He brings in a lot of prize money for the team too.
