2027 will probably be last Gerry's season
Anything to do with the Saudis looking at saving money, or as they put it -
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2026/apr/16/liv-and-let-die-golf-rebels-count-cost-saudi-cutbacks
A source who has worked with both the Saudi Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Pro League says the mooted LIV cull should be seen in this context, with PIF now focused on investments with the potential to deliver a financial return and bring long-term economic and public health benefits.

Will the Team fold ? or move on with new managment?
Gerry Ryan owns the team licence, so my guess it will be sold to Middle East interests. If by small chance gerry can't sell the team licence, then my guess is he will fund the team until 2028 and then it will fold. The most interesting fact is Gerry announced the teams buget is 28m Euro.

I believe Giant will be extended. Plapp was in China last month for Giant for promotional purposes.

maybe as you say, Gerry will add 1 year and stay until the end of this WT cycle. let's hope so. probably he made the announcement now so that the management starts early looking for sponsors.

As you say, the current UCI cycle ends in 2028 so a team with a WT licence for the following three years looks more promising for a sponsor then just a guarentee of one year.
The current "turmoil" in the world will not be very helpful to find a sponsor.

The licence is attractive if the team is in a good position in the UCI ranking. I suggest keep you eye on Q36.5.

It will not be easy to find a sponsor , even from the Middle East. The Saudi PIF are scaling back investments, and looking to fold LIV. Highly unlikely they will sponsor a Cycling Team . The Team will most probably fold or merge with a team like Q 36.5. Both Copeland and the owner of Q 36.5 are South African , aren't they ?

Its not just a sponsor its also a matter of the team licence. They will get a buyer for the licence with my favorite being Q36.5 and therefore a merged team.
