trevim said:It's actually quite amazing the results Gesink had this last couple of seasons while dealing with this problem.
Dekker_Tifosi said:But it plays in the mind. He might hold back in fear of his heart going haywire, therefore not being able to go 100% as fast as he could have gone
Who knows, maybe he's been afraid to go a little too far in the red for a few years already. He's even said it on a couple of occasions, that he can't go too far in the red, although he said it in the context of his inability to follow explosive attacks.18-Valve. A picture from 2009, you're not going to argue that he sucked back then, are you?
Lol, running out of bullsh.t arguments again?Ryo Hazuki said:lol you are so desperate to defend anything belkin/rabo aren't youtell me. how much does belkin/rabo pay you to defend them at any opportunity on this forum?

Arrythmia since 2008, once a year. The stress/thought of it happening during a race causing panic attacks/hyperventilation attacks

Belkin, for all I care, may disappear, I won't miss them. But that's not the point. The point is that you're so easy to refute, it's just too tempting![]()
Dekker_Tifosi said:Can also imagine if your heartrate goes up early in the race and you notice it, you'll get scared to go fully into the red on the final climb...So Gesink might have been racing at only 90/95% of his physical capabilities all the time
Perhaps he's better of WT races this season considering the mental side of his problem. He can ride a good calendar anyway with the italian semi-classics, Burgos and stuff like that.Dekker_Tifosi said:Vuelta is a realistic goal. He feels good already, but he says he and the team will ofcourse look at how it develops. There might be a setback in fitness at some point
Dekker_Tifosi said:He will look how that goes and then decide if he goes for Tour or Vuelta..
