didn’t see P-T so just commenting on Geelong.
with the benefit of hindsight . the way the race was poised at 4 laps to go, strong break about 2 mins ahead there are only 2 possible scenarios.
scenario 1 - elements of the lead group stay away to the finish. in that case Gilbert is gonna want to leave Pozz in his wake on the last hill, not want him to share turns.
scenario 2 - as exciting and full of possiblities as the last 2 laps were, once the main break failed, they were never gonna avoid a friere hushvod davis sprint. it’s been said Gilbert should then have saved himself for Moorabool st (heck even come off Pozz’s wheel

).
no doubt Gilbert deseves a thousand more accolades than Pozzato for Geelong, but does Pozz deserve a bucket tipped on him?
Pippo did what he was supposed to do, another metre of road and would have taken bronze.
...now what he could have done was do more to drive the original break and keep it alive......which is the point some are making...be more decisive
overall what I’m mainly trying to say is - judge him on his contribution or not to the success of the main break rather than the last 2 laps.
