Both of them are okay time trialists on shorter courses. Kreuziger won a mountain TT in the Tour de Suisse once... but his TT hasn't exactly improved since then.

I think a lot of riders will start with TT bars, you can use them for almost half the course... pretty useful, I'd say.

What the heck, I'm going to vote for Rujano.

He was gifted a stage by Contador, so I'd like to see him go all out to earn this stage win the hard way....ride his heart out. Although the effort may cost him later.

it will be very interesting to witness the number of wind-cheating features different riders will bring in...i'm sure we'll see almost a full assortment of aero equipment with the exception of disc wheels.

judging by the previous mtt's, most will have short, stick-like bar extensions and stiff, medium-rimmed (as light as possible) wheels. the frame geometry will depend greatly on the size of the rider, but it's a road bike geometry course.

I answered!

i think yes, i would use extensions with my regular road bars and shifters as you will want to be able to change gear from the hoods on the climb.

There are definitely 10s of seconds to be gained over 5km downhill/flat with bars IMO
