My perfect Giro would have:
2 Time trials
5 MTF's
3 Other mountain stages
1 Mini 'Giro di Lombardia'
4 Breakaway stages
6 Possible sprints
- One long time trial similar to the one in the 2009 Giro. Ideally about 60 km including one or two not terribly hard climbs, some flat in between and about 10 km (flat) dirt roads. Don't know if the roads for that are anywhere to be found though, but it would be really interesting.
- One shorter time trial over flat roads as the final stage. 15-20 km should do.
- No team time trial. I do like them, just not every year.
- No uphill time trial as the last two years featured.
- Five uphill finishes, including Alpe d'Huez with some mountains before that (as suggested earlier in this topic), one insanely hard finish (Rifugio sounds pretty good for that

) and something along the lines of this years' stage to Sestriere.
- Three other mountain stages. One will be the Crostis, just not ending after the climb but taking the dirt road part on the top along. Something along the lines of
this years original stage, but just stopping before the descent of the Crostis. After a climb as tough as the Crostis ridden at maximum, I think the flat bit up there could have some interesting effects.
Another stage will be a downhill finish after a hard climb but something that is less risky than the Crostis one.
- A mini Giro di Lombardia stage with a lot of smaller climbs and a finish on the Sormano (or something similar).
- More intermediate 'escapers' stages.
- 6 possible sprint stages: 3 completely flat stages, 2 in the first week and the other in the last. The other 3 stages that could end up in a bunch sprint, but would at the very least require the sprint teams to work for it.
Don't know how realistic it is and how it would work out, but it sounds interesting enough to me

Bit more balanced, not just only mountain finishes. The time triallers at least have more of a chance here, though the climbers still have the lead (as it should be imo). I'd watch it anyway. Then again, it's the Giro, I'd watch whatever Zomegnan tells me to
