Surely they should give Kruijswijk the chance to better his performance from last year, leave Gesink and Mollema to the Tour.

For sure, but after Vuelta Mollema has his own GT ambitions. What is Mollema fit in the TdF for? Helping Gesink in getting to top-10 and his own top-30? I won't be surprised if Mollema starts the Giro as well.

Big chance Kruiswijk will ride the TdF because he really wants to ride the Tour. So it's likely Gesink, Mollema and Kruijswijk in the TdF. I'd much rather see Mollema or Kruijswijk go all out on the Giro. Breuking didn't confirm they will all ride the Tour, but he said they all deserve it.

I expect they send youngsters and riders like Tankink again. So Slagter for sure and maybe Kelderman? Allhough I expect he will not ride a GT yet.

Sorry, what has Thomas Dekker got to do with this?

Dekker_Tifosi. A regular poster here, allthough I think he's having a small break atm. I could be wrong, since I'm not here that often lately.

What's wrong with it? Mollema isn't TDF top-10 material IMHO, and I don't think Dekker_T sees him as such.

As for the Rabo squad in the Giro, I assume it will be Slagter plus a random other climber (Ten Dam?) for GC, and a few stage hunters and sprinters (Bos, Renshaw). They had arguably the best young rider in the race for two years in a row, but nothing to show for it. Maybe Slagter can bring the white jersey home (don't think so though).

a poster to whet your appetite....

pity about the tacky pink trail behind the rider, but well done on the Wouter Weylandt mention.

Somebody should photoshop out the trail. Although a tiny jersey wouldn't scream Giro then.

I think at least 3 of Androni/Farnese/Colnago/A&S will still be there.

Last spot might go to a 1t4i or a TT1, not that they are better candidates though. Can't see too many possibilities (doubt a French team would get it).

Would like Coldeportes but don't see it.

Meeh I hope A&S, Colnago and Androni will still be there I would also still prefer Farnese over iT4i or any other no WT tour team in the giro.

Want to see guys like Di Luca, Garzelli, Betancourt, Sarmiento, Pozzovivo, Modolo, Brambilla, Pirazzi, Rujano, Serpa, Sella, Felline, Pozzato, Gatto and Guardini in the giro.

coldeportes have wya more chance than tt1 or it4i for sure. zomegnan had diabetes that's only reason tt1 were even considered now with him away tt1 won;'t have a chance

Probably 3 Italian teams plus 1t4i. If Geox survives that makes it more complicated though, especially if Cobo says he'll want to race the Giro.

Oscar Gatto and Pozzato is more then enough to grab a wildcard.

Makes me wonder why Acquarone mentioned a Chinese team (Marco Polo? :() as an example, though. Sure, he only said "for instance," but it seems odd to me.

Eh, it's probably nothing.

It's talk.

TT1 never had a chance with Zomegnan either, that was just talk too. Why invite a team with Kocjan, Callegarin and nothing else?

12? The former Skil, no, they have excellent chances for the tour and/or Vuelta, Acquarone knows that, won't waste a WC on them. Just to have them invited to the Tour and see them bring their second guard.
TT1? A bit stronger than 11, El Fares, but can't compete in any way against the 4 Italians.
Coldeportes? Would be interesting, Corti, outside chance
Gianetti: Not hopeless either, but first a sponsor shoudl be found.

Androni: There, no doubt
CSF: Modolo alone almost guarantees an invitation
A+S: Garzelli Di Luca and other oldies + Betancur.
Farnese: Pozzato + Gatto.

Very likely it will be this. But of course if Acquarone had said that, who would write about it. WC to be likely Italian teams! Give hope to NetApp, TT1, the Skil thing, coldeportes and you might see "GIRO" written in some german etc newspapers, good. 99% that's all it means.

1t4i probably don't even want a wildcard. They don't have the riders for this race, and they'll want to ride the Tour with Kittel and overrated French kid (what's his name again).

You're probably right, but how likely is it they'll get a wildcard to the Tour? And even if they'd go to the Tour, I doubt they'll turn down doing the Giro as well. Just send Degenkolb to the Giro with some nobodies and Kittel to the Tour with the rest of the team. Makes Degenkolb happy too, since he won't have to lead-out for Kittel in his only GT of the year.
