Why?He is lazy or whutt?

I reckon he can't figure what type of rider he wants to be. He doesn't look aware of his limitations, he's never very clear about his goals when talking to the media.

Look at his schedule, there doesn't seem to be a logic or a plan behind it. Perhaps Cannondale should be blamed as much as him, if not more.

Hmm ok, makes 5 a pretty cool stage, a little like Fiuggi Terme in 2011. It's not a hard stage and Pink could be up for grabs so hopefully it doesn't get gifted to the break. Second or third week it's 100% break stage.

Same for 7 I guess, lots of potential there.

He rode one race this whole season in Volta Cataluyna. Can't see him being in shape at all.

( rode San Luis but abandoned on stage 3

Cataldo, Lopez, Deignan, Henao (seb), Puccio, Zandio, Pate, EBH, Swift.

Not a great team but Sky will save their main doms for the Tour and Wiggins, Boswell, Dombro and Knees are scheduled for California.

Preparation for Lutsenko seems to fail however. DNF in MSR and Criterium International. No Pais Vasco, no Ardennes Classics, no Trentino or Romandie (AFAIK). Can't see him starting the Giro.

Edit: I see Lutsenko on the provisional startlist of Fleche Wallonne. So maybe...

Lutsenko was in the break at Amstel. Then rolled over the line with iglinsky

I'd think Cataldo would be allowed to do GC, he could do top 10, get some WT pointsand all that, but main focus will defo be stage hunting. I hope one of their climbers will go for KOM, i hate GT's where only one (decent) rider tries to win it.

Would they even have a GC leader with that team? Or would it be pure stage hunting?

Like the others have said, mainly stage hunting but Cataldo could go for GC (likely top 10 at best), which would help get some support from the local fans.

Italian fans don't give a fudge about a top10 placement. You have a chance of getting their attention with some epic stage winning though.

He was ill and abandoned in San Luis and had knee troubles in Europe, he is feeling better though but he is going for a place in the TdF team.

I know that but that doesn't change the fact that he's beenterrible so far and will not have a place in the giro thus. the reasoning of escarabajo to have him do the giro must be ridiculous. he will be in california though

List of Colombia: Duarte-Pantano-Rubiano-Ávila-Chalapud-Duque-C.Quintero-Romero-Arango

I hoped Torres would be in the Giro because he's been good all the year and he's better climber than 2/3 of the team.

Maybe they choose Arango because he's better in flat stages and the TTT, but I think that 4 sprinters (plus Rubiano who is a hilly fast rider, and Quintero who is not a climber) in a colombian national team is very very freaky.

To specify, the four sprinters are: Duque-Ávila-Romero-Arango.

they don't take torres because all he's been doing is literally crashing everywhere. still a stupid selection considering they take rouleurs like duque, avila(he could be good though), arango and quintero. THE colombian team in europe only have rouleurs and almost no climbers. only chalapud and duarte are climbers in that team. RIDICULOUS.

Team Sky
191 Dario Cataldo (Ita)
192 Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor)
193 Philip Deignan (Irl)
194 Bernhard Eisel (Aut)
195 Sebastian Henao Gomez (Col)
196 Peter Kennaugh (GBr)
197 Salvatore Puccio (Ita)
198 Kanstantsin Siutsou (Blr)
199 Ben Swift (GBr)

uh, Eisel for the Giro. did not see it coming.
Bernie after missing the Tour last year said it was the worst moment of his career. let's see if he can make it next July.
I don't think Kennaugh will ride to Trieste, maybe ride 10-15 stages and then home to prepare for the Tour

That startlist is not the final article. You only have to go as far as to look at Canondale's team there to see that there will be at least a few alterations.
