Am I missing something about this stage? :confused:

A flat 120km circuit stage. Sure that's going to take about 3hrs, which will be 2hrs 28 mins to long!

This is the compromise so they don't have to have a rest day after the Irish stages.

Thanks. There is a rest day now though is there not?

Guess it was too late to change.

I didn't realise, I remember reading a while back they weren't having one. Awful, awful stage anyway.

Should it be rainy, this stage could very well be a massacre. Knowing the places, lots of ups and downs, twisty roads, cool and interesting stuff.

In addition to your post;

This is the profile of the last climb (which they did last year to)

That's a bit of hot mess of a route, to be honest.

The first seven stages are a SNOOZEFEST, the next seven include some REALLY good stages (Carpegna!!, happy to see Piandelfalco in the mix - but badly executed, Savona, Oropa) and then it just goes rather ridiculously over the top in the final 7 stages with 5/7 pretty tough MTFs. I do wonder how many of those will be ridden hard and how many will get ruined by conservative riding (which is BOUND to happen cause why go all out on Panarotta (which I LIKE as a climb, just totally superflous in the grand scheme of things) when you have to a Monte Grappa MTT a day after).

How to ruin a good looking stage, put 42km of flat after the last climb.

A shame there are no hills in Ireland but I am sure Cavendish will be licking his lips with 6 chances in the first 13 stages.

Yeah, now that Cavendish has won the points jersey I doubt he stays in past stage 13.

Yes, but a strategic hot mess as miley frames it

What's the scale on the profile? First climb over 300 vertical meters?

The finale is really technical with a descent on small roads between pittoresque vineyards. The middle part is pure power on the way to Alba. I like this tt a lot more than the first one, they presented.
