That would suggest to me that they dont expect Chaves to be at the top of his game ...Simon is backup
Knee injury kept him out of racing this season.Gigs_98 said:Bora brings their three young Austrians, Konrad, Mühlberger and Pöstlberger, to the Giro.
I also saw that neither Majka nor König will ride. Wasn't at least König scheduled? Is he injured?
Daniel Felipe Martinez is from 1996 too (it's his birthday today, for what it's worth), he rode the Giro last year. He'll ride the Giro again this year, very interesting rider to follow. No big results yet, but I was impressed by him a few times (Route du Sud and Tour of Utah 2015).tobydawq said:Bardiani announced their team a couple of days ago.
Interestingly, it included Albanese. I wonder when was the last time a younger rider has ridden a Grand Tour. Danny van Poppel in the Tour, maybe? (I know he was younger, but the question is if there has been a younger rider than Albanese since then).
Anyhow, 20 years is very young to get a debut in a Grand Tour but it's interesting to see what he can do - if anything.
The last that I've hear from König at the start of April he was ablle to do really long rides at lower intensity, but everytime he did intervals or other really intense his knee started hurting once again, so he had to skip the Giro.Alexandre B. said:Knee injury kept him out of racing this season.Gigs_98 said:Bora brings their three young Austrians, Konrad, Mühlberger and Pöstlberger, to the Giro.

Those 3 with a green tick (Bardiani, Bora, Lotto Soudal) are confirmed line-ups.Escarabajo said:So this is what we have. How accurate are these lists?

Edit: I did the research, only Martinez was younger than Albanese to start in a GT since Van Poppel.
Thanks. I missed the green checks!!Josh Homme said:Those 3 with a green tick (Bardiani, Bora, Lotto Soudal) are confirmed line-ups.Escarabajo said:So this is what we have. How accurate are these lists?

AFAIK only Dimension Data and Sunweb preselections are official. So the rest of the squads might be not that reliable and including unofficial (self)confirmations/rumours.
i hope that Sunweb won't send Walscheid to the Giro, racing the Giro as your first gt would be a bit too hard for a young, 90kg heavy sprinter, just let him ride the Vuelta (against a 3rd rate sprinters field).Josh Homme said:Those 3 with a green tick (Bardiani, Bora, Lotto Soudal) are confirmed line-ups.Escarabajo said:So this is what we have. The Lotto Soudal team for the Giro:
HANSEN Adam
MONFORT Maxime
GREIPEL André
MARCZYNSKI Tomasz
HOFLAND Moreno
BAK Lars Ytting
DE BIE Sean
DE BUYST Jasper
DE CLERCQ Bart
Monfort will somehow end up in the top 15 on gc, but Greipel will probably leave the Giro once again (at least this time there's not a single real sprint stage in the 3rd week, so the sprinter have a good excuse).

Indeed, I think Seb Henao is money, I really like him as a rider. After his Giro in 2014, many I think have been disappointed in him, but he has been great this year.MatParker117 said:Apparently this is Sky:

Strong team if true.
A sprint train, Rui Costa and many young guys who could do something. Conti and Petilli could surprise people. Ravasi is already riding his first gt, but he'll be 23 in june, so he should be ready, it's gonna be a good learning experience for him.Ricco' said:UAE Team Emirates:
