'Exams' ftw.

4 hours coverage as usual. Is that kilometre 0?
Indeed, exams are very annoying
Should be a very interesting stage. Maybe some secondary GC riders getting into a huge break L'Aquila style _O_

This stage parcours begs for a bold attacker! Hopefully Nibali and the team have devised a strategy. Then he makes a Bold Move in an attempt to blow the race apart and see who can go with him.

Cannondale have to get one or two riders into the break (Rolland/Woods), Astana also. Movistar could be looking to stir things up, but the only place that Tom D might get dropped seriously is the steep section at the end of the final climb, so it's not clear that the race will break up (although it's possible with two flat days to come). Nibali might also try something. It's unclear what Sky will do. G's legs are clearly strong, but with his shoulder injury, it's unclear how he will feel on the steep slopes (hopefully good). Landa is also injured, but he did OK today. I'm not really expecting anything special from them, apart from staying near the front and hopefully going for it in the last week. I'll go for Woods with a special mention for Visconti.

Looks like the most Rui Costa stage this Giro has on offer. So in typical fashion, he'll probably do nothing and hang on to some anonymous top 20 placing.

Only reason I don't agree with Rosa for the win here is that I think he might still be on duty for Geraint somewhy...

Yeah, if we see a Sky rider, a Movistar rider, maybe an FDJ and a Bahrain rider, look out, because that should tell us that the GC men not named Dumoulin will be out to do something. I also think that if they do this, even in non-high mountain stages, they are likely to try and put the hurt on SunWeb and sap their energy by making them chase or control the breaks. That way, come the MTF stages, they'll be more tired and have less firepower to help Dumoulin. Having said that, they could also damage themselves and their own leaders by doing this stage in and stage out.

Yeah, that is my problem too. I never get to watch the whole Giro because of these stupid exams. I have a microbilogy exam on tuesday so bye bye Stelvio :(.
Nibali ftw tomorrow.

If I was Movi I'd keep the powder dry, at least at first. Yates, Pinot, Thomas, Nibali et alia need this more than he does in the long run. See if they blink. Also a chance to get the Sunweb boys to do some work, at least early. But if no one goes, then rail those last two climbs.

I'd like to see a couple of skirmishes and Thibopino and Nairito taking some time in the last 2km. But if a phony war takes place early and with plenty of fresh legs in the peloton the break might just take it in a leader's stalemate.

Polanc might try to win another stage and extend his lead in the mountains classification.

Anyway, this is where the Giro of Foliforov, Dombrowski & Hirt should begin.

Hopefully Landa ain't too much hurt anymore. He looked okay today. So hopefully he will give it a go for the blue jersey he should've won 2 years ago already!

Nibali ftw tomorrow.

In the States it's practically impossible to watch the Giro (or any race) live if you work a 9 to 5 job...ain't cool.

Dumoulin will want a quiet stage but I doubt he's going to get it. Orica, Cannondale and Sky could be interested and Movistar could join in later in the stage.

Sky, Movistar, et al need to make up time so Tom D will be under attack from km 0. Next chance is Saturday.

I agree with this. I'd also add Fraile to that list of names. He was in the Blockhaus break and will need to go in this one too if he's serious about that KoM jersey and/or stage win.
