STAGE 13: Reggio Emilia – Tortona 167 km

START TIME: 13.20 CEST

Technical Overview:
Another chance for the sprinters, and this time it is the easiest one. It is also the last clear chance for them, so they better take it. Nothing else to add, besides that there is a tricky left turn at 400m to go.

What to expect:
Bunch sprint. Maybe the last one.

Welcome to the best stage in this Giro!
Gaviria ftw, although there is predicted massive rain in the finale...

Rain? I'd forgotten that was even a thing. I guess that will add a little flavour to this stage.

Gaviria to show Greipel one last time who's da real G before the German flies home anyway!

Pinot to out-sprint Greipel :D !

This one is the winner of the meh stage contest...bad...

I hope Gavendish wins it. He's a great story in this Giro, finally delivering the goodies at the highest level. Good for him.

Yawn...

2 good things about today's stage - it's only 167 km long and the weather forecast is for thunderstorms. If it's wet, it could be a day for the breakaway.

This one has a Bouhanni written all over it.

That is, someone to take out the bunch with a crazy move inside 400 m.

Hope not though.

I wonder if Lotto shouldn't just send someone in the break so they don't have to work.
If it rains, Greipel is even more at a disadvantage anyway.

Obvious Gav win is obvious today. Could potentially get interesting with the weather and the wind, but I won't hold my breath.

Wind is picking up from the south in the final km. Could get a little more interesting.

Extremely boring stage so far, the peloton almost accidentally catches the break who don't seem like they want to be out there.

That sounds more exiting than most sprint stages

Dimension Data had the right idea. Pulled their rider from the break. Sprint teams killing the sprint stages. This break would have no chance if they had they had 12 minutes instead of 2 minutes but at least there would be an element of jeopardy. There needs to be an understanding that this is the entertainment industry. No point in "showing off your team's jersey" if there is nobody watching
