Dumoulin looks absolutely pissed off. Whether it's justifiable or not doesn't matter because it happened and that won't change. He can use it as fodder to ride aggressively for the rest of the race.

Honestly he still has zero reason to ride aggressively. If he follows wheels every stage from now on he probably wins the Giro by 2 minutes.

I was on a train during the beginning of the climb and during the "incident." from the sound of it, Quintana didn't do attack at all on the climb? From what I've read it was Zakarin and Nibali. Is that right?

Pretty much yeah, Quintana really just followed wheels all day long. It was mainly Zakarin really, the rest just responded to him.

Only if he can follow wheels

Super impressed by Tom. Many expected him to lose 2 minutes or even more, and he did, but only because of bad luck.. he was strong and fought to the end. Hopefully he isn't ill and can limit his losses on the next stages.

Fantastic ride by big Tom. Now looking forward to hearing his comments!
Great recovery. Hopefully he will show class as always and not throw mud against the opposition. Afterall it was his own caused problem.

He's clearly pissed, but I'm hoping I have him pegged correctly and he's just really angry at himself.

And I hope he's healthy, and after a relatively easy stage tomorrow he'll be as close to 100% for the last 4 days as you can be in the final week of the Giro.

Yeah, I agree. That's what Movistar know too so they'll be taking turns attacking him for the rest of the race. The other GC riders will also take their shots so it may not be as easy as just following wheels to Milan, but if he can hold in the mountains to within a minute or so of everyone else, the race is his to take.

It's obvious that Dumoulin is the strongest man in the race, but also has one of the weakest teams which allows for tactics to rule in lieu of the strongest rising to the top.

Ow I'm not implying for a minute it will be easy for him to follow wheels for the next 5 days. But if he can manage it he'll win the Giro. He doesn't need to attack anyone.

I don't think Landa did a lot wrong except take the last corner too wide. Normally of course you would let the GC rider go in front but that was a very twisty finish and it looked a big advantage to be in front. Nibali just took a much better line at the last corner
