Time gaps are interesting:

Ganna

29 seconds

Pogacar

38 seconds

3rd rider

23 seconds

10th rider

Ganna and Pogacar stood out with their performances while the rest of top guys were close to each other with only minor differences.

Nice to see Ganna win, he was emotional in the interview. He really suffers the pressure the italian media puts on him.
It's also interesting that Cioni said in the post race show that is numbers today were similar to those he pushed in the WCC*, actually a little less today because the slight downhill in the final made it harder to achieve high power.

* I think he was reffering to last year, but i'm not totally sure about that
Some interesting insight from Blythe today (shocking I know) about Ganna and how emotional he is and the impact that has as he was crushed after the first ITT and then got dropped very early the next day on a climb he can handle ok but reckons with the confidence of todays win he will be flying as a domestique tomorrow.

Meaningless, worthless TT. It did nothing for this race other than concede the official triumph to Pogacar and the stage to Ganna. But for the overall race it didn't do squad. This TT was an overkill IMHO. Let's bring the real mountains!

This is the strategy for Pogacar going forward:

- Wash you hands frequently
- Don't rub your face with your hands directly.
- Don't touch people but your trainer and your girlfriend.
- Do not lead out Molano.
- Do not get distracted with Videos or photos while riding the bike.

O'Connor will finish ahead of Martinez in this Giro. Two months without racing is too long for a mere mortal.
Bernal won the Giro like that. It doesn't seem to be that big of a problem anymore with the new training techniques. I was skeptical of this before but with Martinez is better like that. IMO.

Yea, but the money gotten from paying towns has diminishing returns if the TV audience isn't watching. In Italy it's crucial, given that even la Gazzetta dello Sport, the historical sponsor of RCS, doesn't have front page images of the Giro.
Isn't the majority of the TV audience tuning in for the scenery? At least that's what they say about the tdf. Meaning many tv spectators don't care about the racing as much as having the free time to watch.

No, they tune in to watch the racing in Italy, but if they are working it's difficult to follow. It also depends on the stage. If in the high mountains, more people will watch. This is why I think it's best to make sure mountain stages occupy the weekends, or at least some stage that will likely offer some drama and thus incentive to tune in on TV.

One random thought I had yesterday, while watching the shots of Ganna and Foss sitting on the edge of that fountain after Ganna had finished, is that if I had just finished an ITT in 23 degrees Celcius, I would have been so tempted to just... lean back and... SPLOSH!
Of course, it's possible that the fountain is a Very Special Fountain, and that you would be banished for life if you did so.

After yesterday's win they wouldn't sanction Ganna even if he peed in the fountain.

1st and 2nd place.

I also believe it added a lot of fatigue that affected today
1st place did not change. And second and third places just swapped positions for a few seconds. It didn't do anything, They were destined to battle the podium in the mountains.

I'll give you the fatigue part.

Having said that, they could have done a medium mountain today and the queen stage yesterday.
