Riders don't ride the Umbrail. It will probably be shortend or canceled.
If shortend the winner will be from the bunch. UAE could ride and I think Bora will ride for bonis.
Lovely that Adam Hansen tells us that if the riders vote, they stick to their vote like they are the only valid shareholders and the previous meeting involving a CPA representative is to be ignored. Also, the CPA still cites freezing rain from the EWP to mean rain that‘s cold, whereas my online dictionary research tells me this is BS and that freezing rain has to freeze on the ground. Finally, he writes that changing clothes at two degrees poses a health risk. I don‘t understand what the risk to putting on warm clothes when it‘s cold, is.

I love how "vote to skip the Umbrailpass" is casually dropped as if this means they would just change a street in a city criterium. You can't "skip" the Umbrailpass without altering the stage totally, if they drive all the way over Umbrail (which btw will be a logistical disaster) and start after the descent you end up with a stage of 120km where 90km are false flat downhill. Hilarious stuff.

I don't blame the riders.
I don't blame RCS.
I don't even blame Adam Hansen at this point.

I blame the UCI. Grant permission to move the race to late May / June as per the multiple requests. Protect the Giro!
That's the only logical solution under the EWP and contemporary safety requirements.
Wouldn't this make it near impossible for anyone to do the Giro/Tour double, though?

I vote that I don't have to show up for work but still get full pay and sympathy. I'm 100% in favour. Carried.
Does your work involve a serious risk of death that is increased in bad weather?

I think it would be reasonable for, e.g. a builder, to say I can't work today because there is snow/ice and so a serious risk. Going down that descent where there is potentially ice while racing is dangerous and the riders should be able to say that. I am sure almost all of them want to race

Swapping the Vuelta and Giro would be better. The weather in Spain is typically better in May and it's less of a high mountain race. The risks of extreme heat during the Vuelta are also minimized.

Everything RCS have done so far has been done like they to ought to by the EWP. They came to an agreement yesterday. It is not up to CPA to implement that agreement. By the rules of the sport, they have no formal veto. Their "vote" has no validity. They want everyone else to abide by the rules, when the rules are in their favour - yet the riders do not want to respect the rules when it doesn't suit them.

From the EWP on who has the power to decide: "If stakeholders cannot reach a consensus by the end of the meeting, the organiser, in agreement with the President of the Commissaires’ Panel, shall decide the actions to be taken."

CPA are saboteurs. Anti-cycling agents.

I have a simple solution. Start doing grand tours on Zwift (or similar)!!! This is getting really anoying...
Former cyclists rode with really bad weather and with less material conditions. Nowadays cyclists have better everything, want to be remembered as the best from the past are, but they forget they have to race.
If the teams refuse to race, end the race.

Haven't we had enough of crashes, injured and sick riders?
