Can only happen with a bad DS tbh.I still don't know why Molano is here and I specifically don't know why this is the 2nd time Pog does a leadout for a third tier sprinter.

At least he peeled off with ~1.2 to go.Chapeau Merlier. Pogacar is mad to work in the leadout for f*cking Molano in this kind of stage. In Naples the peloton was at least thinned out, but here he took some genuine risks for absolutely nothing. Oh well, it didn't end badly after all.
After several close callsAt least he peeled off with ~1.2 to go.

Good excuse to do some intervals on a couple of stages.I still don't know why Molano is here and I specifically don't know why this is the 2nd time Pog does a leadout for a third tier sprinter. Vingegaard couldn't even lead Wout out in a 20 man group
Giro field is so bad that Merlier can win the 21st stage
Philipsen says Hi!I take the opposite view - Sprints will be easier to win in the TDF with No Milan or Merlier.

afaik he has never before contested the sprint in a 21st stage in a GT, so we didn't know what he was capable of.Giro field is so bad that Merlier can win the 21st stage
