Is it futile though? Pogacar will win in a sprint anyway, but if you're a good climber and feeling good, then an attack to see if you can distance the others is not futile IMO

It's not ideal in terms of odds for him to go to a mountain sprint with Martinez, who is quite fast, maybe he's just not feeling as strong as usual today, would've attacked otherwise. Probably still wins.
