Even Valverde would have been more interesting, because Movistar would probably have done something stupid on the run-in before he bailed out the team car with a mountain sprint.

They made Prati di Tivo look like Montevergine di Mercogliano or San Martino di Castrozza.

No they didn't.

Big difference between 30 and 10 riders.

I would, if it wasn't for the cat incident. Not normally one to take the moral ground with rider behaviour, but that was just strange?
In fairness, cyclists have probably done worse (Sagan) with few repercussions to their reputation. Feels like animal cruelty often gets a more emotive response than other moral crimes (see, Kurt Zouma).

The difference is in expectations beforehand. In terms of what happened, as soon as Majka started pulling and just calmly took over you knew what was gonna happen. Barely anybody got dropped during the second half of the climb.

Tiberi could actually podium this race, this is the guy Im rooting for
I've been secrectly expecting a Tiberi podium since it became clear the startlist was so weak. The guy is rock solid.

There's still some stiff competition to overcome though. Martinez, O'Connor and Thomas primarily, as contrary to most of the forum, I haven't written off the Welshman quite yet.

In fact, given the fact Arensman lost 10s and is still a genuine top five threat, I think it was not a great decision from the rest of the top five contenders to not attack or up the pace. You could see that Arensman couldn't follow, and you also know he's riding into form. I don't think Tiberi made a mistake attacking, at all.

People have a completely deranged relationship to pets, or animals deemed particularly cute. Shooting rats is fine, shooting a cat and you are a monster.
