About that long rant of Adam Blythe beating Wout&Mathieu in the same race...

The list of riders to beat that duo in a one-day race :

Adam Blythe / Elfstedenronde 2018
Matteo Trentin / European Championships 2018
Alexander Kristoff / Gent-Wevelgen 2019
Alberto Bettiol / Ronde van Vlaanderen 2019
Mads Pedersen / Gent-Wevelgem 2019
Jasper Stuyven / Milano-San Remo 2021
Kasper Asgreen / E3 Saxo Bank 2021
Kasper Asgreen / Ronde van Vlaanderen 2021
Julien Alaphilippe / World Championships 2021
Sonny Colbrelli / Paris-Roubaix 2021
Matej Mohoric / Milano-San Remo 2022
Dylan van Baarle / Paris-Roubaix 2022
Remco Evenepoel / World Championships 2022
Tadej Pogacar / Ronde van Vlaanderen 2023

So yes - one can say that Adam Blythe is the only donkey who has ever achieved that

Additionally, Greg van Avermaet, Jens Keukeleire, Tadej Pogacar (x 2), Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic have won general classifications in stage races with Woult&Mathieu.

There is also total of 52 stage wins over that duo shared by 42 riders - 26 of them not yet listed above. Jasper Philipsen leads that list with total of six stages.

One of the two was at same team as Remco and the other one had personal issues the night before the race.
True. I just went through racing history and listed each case without a consideration to the circumstances.

And apologies to originally missing Jens Keukeleire's GC victory in 2017 Baloise Belgium Tour.

Kind of crazy that Blythe is the only one not either a world champion, European champion or monument winner to beat both WVA and MVDP at the same time.

Milan and Kooij don't go for the intermediate sprint unlike Kroves and Merlier. Probably trying to save themselves for the finish.

Well, I added Jens Keukeleire to the list later (for GC in Baloise Belgium Tour 2017) and of course there are some lesser names amongst those stage winners. But yes, it is remarkable although also partly explained by the fact that MvdP and WvA haven't met in lesser races for quite a while.

The jerseys were so similar from the heli that I thought some team decided they should practice their TTT.

10 km to the beginning of the finale. EF or Bahrain should pace hard on the climb, not let Alpecin dictate how the race unfolds.

Just came to see if something happend, and then it's a crash. Poor lads. How's Thomas looking? Hurt, or will it just be an annoyance more or less?

Would be cool if UAE just drop everyone and Pog wins the stage. All they need is Bjerg to say he's up for it.
