Best debut possible in the rainbow jersey for Tadej Pogačar, he is simply on another league especially in bad weather. In spite of his utter dominance its still better than watching the Sky train up the Tour mountains or having no attacks until the last kilometer.

Great ride from Lipowitz but the last lap was sadly a bit too much for him. Pidcock with a really good second place, he will be an outsider for Lombardia. Piganzoli and Adrià also with strong performances.

Only 53 riders finished. Roglic also DNF

How many of the MTFs in the Sky Tours had no attacks until the last km?
How often did the Sky train actually choke races more than this?

There were too many boring days, but let's not pretend it was always and only boring. 2013 & 2015 were much more exciting than this.

Literally every mountain stage in the Tour unfolded this way mate.

Emilia was always good in the Sky era.

In this year's Tour riders actually attacked during the final climb while back in the Sky days, Froome just killed the race the first MTF and in the TT while barely anything happened in the remaining mountain stages.

Of course that I am biased but at least now riders dare to attack more and this is also true for riders that I don't like such as Vingegaard.

Which Morzine stage do you prefer? The one of 2016 or the one of 2023?
I'll take 2023 before Sky and 2024 any day of the week.

All in all, I also still ranked the Tour this year above (or on level with) the 2015 Tour. I made my point clear:

Yeah, fair enough. I really also do hope that Vingegaard can be able to match Pog next year because even if I like the guy, I also get fatigued and bored of this dominance.

I will, however, maintain that in Zurich, it could have been a suicide mission if the others had reacted a little sooner and Remco had had his best legs.
