Dupont isn't all that surprising this year - he's always been pretty good at the Giro, but surprisingly so this year.

Arroyo was closer to Antón this year than he was to Basso last year. He's still in the top 10.

I wonder who the HTC rider who suddenly discovers he can contend for Grand Tours will be at the Vuelta (we already know it's Tony at the Tour)... my money's on Frantisek Rabon.

Quite loud the contempt for COntador, however I doubt it has much to do with doping, as you could see from the signs along the road it appeared as though the people used Contador as someone to blame for the lack of the Crostis, this perhaps due to the fact that he was so outspoken about the Crostis.

Quite amazed by Kruijswijk, he is doing at least as well as last year, perhaps even better, while it appears as though the competition is stronger this year

It was a very disapointing stage.

I was hoping for 1500 + comments, we barely got 900. With Crostis we would have made 1500 no doubt.

Last year several stages by this point had 1000 +. This year only stage 5 came close.

Tomorow cans save it, maybe. FInnestre is the other one.

But what we need is riders attacking on climbs 1 2 and 3, not just on Fedaia and Val di Fassa.

hard to say.
1- he was in the break a lot last year, so him performance was impressive.
2-he didn't gain 10-15 minutes from a successful break this year :p

I think he is climbing better on a whole. For his age he is doing a great ride.

I request:

One (1) picture, preferably high res, of that brilliant man taunting Contador with a steak on a stick.
One (1) picture or (preferably) clip of the motorbike overheating.

Thanks.

Isn't that just the classic donkey and carrot scene?

Great, great win by Fuji, anyone thinking Contador gifted this should get a grip.

Im all for riders gc riders attacking on earlier mountains Hitch. Unfortunately in recent times, too many ride to consolidate podium and therefore put their team on front to chase down. Overall gc leader's team doesnt get streched near enough

Beef boy gets his comeuppance from the Tifosi.
Absolutely no class, today, with his impression of Levi Leipheimer.
The beef on the fishing rod will be a lasting impression of today's screwball comedy.
Other than that, best watched in ff.

Go Anton!!!

Oh, and Rujano is the 10th best climber in the Giro!:D

Time to get a grip for me. As if he couldn't have stayed on his wheel...

Really glad Anton won though.

Contador struggled today, Nibali was very good, interesting that Anton was 5 seconds off Basso, shows Scarponi hasnt improved but Nibali has by 2 minutes,
Going to be a very good battle now Contadors showed hes not invincible

Rujano looked like he didnt have the muscular power to push the gear on such a steep slope, Contador looked over geared as well, he usually spins quicker than that

Kreuziger what a fail

Chortle .
Could have worded it better, admittedly, but it's not like he's come absolutely out of nowhere. It's not surprising to see him put in some good showings at the Giro - but it is slightly surprising that he's doing so so consistently.

If they had done crostis this whole climb would have been in the rain and epic

Or even just the Tualis. Did the protesters seriously think that the teams would go 'touché, fans...' and suddenly ignore every argument they had for not going up the Crostis in the first place? Their actions made things even worse.

EDIT: Thanks to the poster who linked the English feed. Rain hit like 10 seconds before the Zoncolan climb started, and shortly after my Sky signal crapped out completely. There's something about the idea of me enjoying a GT that the weather Gods just don't like.
