FWIW, the race has already been won, all the players are merely seeking to hold on to their place. Reminds me of the Ventoux finish several years ago...

Oh, boy, doesn't that bring back great memories?

By my timing, Rujano has about 1.30 on the pink jersey group now.

Or 1.51 according to the graphics.

Kiryienka is a beast. He's been in good climbing form for much of this year, and he's won a Giro mountain stage before. He's got a big engine, very strong, so perhaps the loose surface actually suits him because it enables him to power over it, while the lighter Rujano has problems with grip.

Would be nice to see some attacks from the favourites, but if Rujano stays away, I'm not complaining.

Betancourt doesn't look like he's about to get dropped by Rujano. In fact he looks surprisingly fresh. Really impressive stuff from him today.

Edit: lol, the moment I pushed "Submit reply", Betancourt was dropped. Guess I jinxed it :D

Uh-oh.... Just spotted Kruijswijk pushing a MASSIVE gear.

He might be on the verge of implosion.

EDIT: Evidently not
