Publicus said:Given the fact that no one really pushed AC (like Andy did in 2009 and 2010), I bet he is relatively fresh all things being considered. I don't think he will be at a significant disadvantage (because he rode the Giro) at the start of the TdF (if he starts).
What, they played the one about Franco's *** being white?icefire said:Spanish anthem with lyrics!
That's going to make some controversy in Spain
Let me say LOL to this, BTW. But yes, eventually Kruijswijk held on.Dekker_Tifosi said:Btw where does that the idea come from that Sivtsov can even remotely be a threat to Kruijswijk in the time trial??
I've looked up his ITT results on CQ ranking. Sivtsov isn't anywhere near Kruijswijks level in itt's. Only in mountain/very hilly itt's Sivtsov came close to top 20 a few times. Other times he finishes 30-40th.
Romandie:
7. [NED] KRUIJSWIJK Steven RAB 43"
30. [BLR] SIUTSOU Kanstantsin THR 01'23" 0
And that was 20km
Other flat time trials from sivtsov?
32th in penafiel (vuelta 2010)
23th in paurillac - helped by less harsch wind then top riders (tdf 2010)
119th iin prologue rotterdam (12km) (tdf 2010)
And otherwise I see some top 40's... that's IT.
While Kruijswijk has been pretty much an good itt-er throughout his young career. Finishing 12th at world U23 tt, 22th in the final Giro ITT last year, and recently 7th in Romandie far ahead of Sivtsov
It's not gonna even be a match up.
Nieve is going to fall away through, thats Sivtsov's hope

Being heads and shoulders above competition =/= easier race or a 'relatively' fresh rider.
I'm sure all the riders, including Alberto Contador, are feeling the last 3 weeks a lot. WIll be a massive disadvantage for those going into the tour imo.
Descender said:Contador's history with anthems is very funny... I think it was in the 09 Tour when they played the Danish anthem and he was WTF. And now this...
It wasn't so bad that he couldn't get away from it whenever he wanted to.UpTheRoad said:but the infighting within Astana was AC's biggest obstacle in 2009.

He now has a win in all three Grand Tours.
RedheadDane said:I forgot to ask this before...
But What the **** is he doing?
Granville57 said:LOL!
That was from the Cayman Islands. He was getting ready for a date with the stingrays!
