Looks pretty good for Almida. Rest of today and tomorrow are for pure climbers. And we don't have any of those in the race. Would be cool to have Pogacar, Vinegaard, Landa, Hindley, Mas on these stages. Instead we have a very weak climb field
The pure climbers, in the traditional sense of the word, are in the break. There is no longer as much of a distinction—climbing performance wise—between the guys who are solely climbers and the all-rounder watt-monsters like Pogacar. I suppose “pure climber” can still be a descriptive of a rider’s size and style.

What he said. Big difference between week long stage races and GTs. Likes of Spilak, Fuglsanf and Costa would be legends if there wasn't

I don't believe there would be a difference and he already showed last year he can perform at a high level in a GT so the comparison with Spilak or Costa is rather silly imo. It's possible Pogacar and Vingegaard are still too good in a GT but I honestly don't believe this is the case for Roglic anymore.

I have no idea why riders like Kamna fight for a minor place in GC 3 weeks long to then just let someone jump over them in GC for free. There's absolutely no reason why Bora would not try to keep this at 4 min for example. it's not like they have to save their other riders for anything now.

And I genuinly hope Almeida takes everyhting in this Giro from now on so that Ineos and Jumbo leave with nothing after this passive shiit show for 3 weeks long.

Pinot is almost pink jersey virtually at this point.

This could be the stage that gives him the final top10.

Looks good for Pinot, also for his breakaway compatriots, who now have even more of an excuse to lean on him

If anybody attacked now, Jumbo would be physically blocked from responding. Would be a problem in any other GT, but of course not this one.

Because honestly, people in the cars are not that bright, are they now. I think there are countless of good examples of just that.

Also, commentators always critisizing teams that do that even though 9/10, it makes for a better and harder race.

Could be a great day for him if he wins the stage, gets KOM and also gets him a high GC spot.

The criticism is mainly when there's actually a rider in the break than can put the leader in danger, but Pinot isn't that rider. That being said, you're right it often makes for a way better race.

Roglic was almost dropped on the first climb of the day, but that's about it.
You would think Ineos and/or UAE would try to set a high pace to see if they can drop him early on or something. Unless both Almeida and Thomas are not confident I don't see why they wouldn't.

And how is Almeida and UAE better than Ineos and Jumbo?
Didn't he won the stage two days ago?
Why his team doesn't ride?
