Landa: 'The Giro is decided, now it's time to try to win another stage, and keep Aru on the podium'

I don't think Astana will set a high tempo as they will try to keep Aru's 3rd place. And Tinkoff-Saxo is not strong enough to keep the breakaway in touch and set high tempo. imo GC will be decided in the last climb and the stage winner is for early breakaway.

Landa and Aru won't be together on last mountain because Aru will be dropped before. If movistar or katusha sets tempo on Saint Barthelemy and Col Saint Pantaleon (2 climbs before last one) then Landa will go with it.

Aru has Kangert to help him like yesterday. Yesterday Landa simply couldn't go alone after Contador.

Stage to go crazy. Hejsedal will attack like a mad man as usual, Kruijswijk and Intxausti will battle it out for the KOM, Movistar will try to crack Aru, Landa will launch a vicious attack for the stage win, Trofimov will show his face as well and Contador will want that stage victory.

After the excitement of the past days, this one might be "tamer" in comparison, the hardest profile don't necessarily generate the hardest racing...

I think it will be hard race as usual for this giro. People in top 10 and close to it can make a difference and who feels well today will try to do something.

Aru was is problems when Visconti set the tempo on the climbs doesn't predict much good for today

So Movistar has to drill it on the first climbs and Katusha too for Trofimov

Landa to follow Contador but with orders not to attack except for the last km to win the stage...

Landa will try to attack. I'm sure about it. Otherwise Astana will lose their 2nd and 3rd place if they want to play around and only follow Contador because Contador doesn't have to respond to top 10 attacks and knows that Astana must do work.

Hopefully Landa will be unleashed, but it seems unlikely. He was the fastest rider on the climb yesterday. It's a bit sad if he never gets the chance to ride himself full out in this Giro because he has to protect Aru.

Looks like Lulu and Kangert will be unleashed today and tomorrow in the break.

I think Landa couldn't have gone away from group he joined. Landa could push early on because he knew he had teammates in front who would help him if he ran out of gas - like a safetynet to catch him.
Actually Landa pulled back huge amount of time when he was behind one rider who was in green suit (can't remember team name) and rest of the time sat in big group (which makes going uphill easier).

he was paced up by the team car

it was on the flat before the climb.
Yep, however he surely saved energy that way.
Looking froward to today's finish. Vamos Berto!!!!

The problem for Landa yesterday is that when he caught the group there was little point pushing on on his own (unless he could bridge) as he would have been on his own of descent and final flat or wait for group

I think Amador could have followed Landa if Landa attacked, one moment the group of Aru was breaking when Movistar set the temp but then Visconti had a mechanical, then it regrouped and Kangert put a tempo Aru could follow

Hesjedal started the climb several positions later than Contador, so cant be the same time.
