Clarke is this close to cry at the interview XD
Good to have an anglophone rider appreciate the Giro and its history. Still remember Henderson bitterly claiming Paris Nice is a bigger race.

Did he already saw sorry to Aru? :D

God i hope the day comes he's in a break this year in the giro, no mercy!

Simon Clarke has been quite an attacking rider at times unlike the other Simon, but is perhaps just a little weaker than Gerrans in every respect. Still it is good that he can get the jersey although he has no chance of holding it tomorrow unless we have the most boring MTF ever.

Given the mood Astana are in we might see the top 3 finish together or even a solo victory by one of them. Could well be one of them in pink.

Aru vs. Contador to me. And Aru is going to get it. He's in super shape.

Three words: 60km time trial.

Doesn't matter. The Giro organisation give Astana the permition to put 4 teammates in front of him in the TT ;)

Aru slaying his team there to only put in one soft dig.

Not that soft if Contador and Porte were the only ones who stayed on his wheel, right? He put time on Uran, and closed the gap that Kreuziger had on him.

That's quite remarkable, given the fact that he was too 'sick' to race 10 days ago.
Trentino started, 3 weeks ago. And he never planned to ride Romandie

He spoke in fluent Italian in the interview, because he raced in Italy for severly years before turning pro.

He still lives in Italy now

Someone wanna make a tweet sumarising everything in this stage?

GIANT break with some relevant GC guys (kreuziger most imporant).

Tinkoff and etixx didn't know what to do. Contador was prob shitting his pants that kreuziger would have 10min on him in GC. Astana were eating some jelly's and then they decided to go full *** and pull back every rider except for a young italian.

Uran lost 40 sec.

Great race.

Are you sure he wasn't celebrating the pink?

Yeah, definitely a possibility. But it's funnier if he thought he won!

That would be a fairly odd celebration for pink.

He said he was celebrating Pink in the post stage interview.

Sure...yes.... he can fool some with that I guess. :p :D

I'm just reporting what he said and he seemed sincere in Italian at any rate.

Interesting tactic from Aru to drag his isolated opponents to their domestiques in the breakaway group. On the other hand, he did seem to put time into Uran, so maybe it's one down, two to go.

What an excellent stage with real racing! Chapeaus all round.

yeahbut, tinkoff tactics were stoooooooooooopid, the break was NEVER going to be caught, kreuzinger KRAZY for riding hard/leading breakaway, final climb will be dull....

yes. other than the few things mentioned above, it was an excellent stage with non-formulatic real RACING...just as i mentioned in an earlier post. ;)
