How much time will Aru lose to:

I) Contador
II) Porte

In the ITT? I say 2.5 minutes and 3.5 minutes. Astana are clever. If Aru is in good shape, every stage where they can gain time, they need to go for it.

Oh, and Simon Clarke tells lies. My Mum says lies make baby Jesus cry.

He did look very smooth and easy. Probably getting a good nights sleep in his mobile marginal motor home

This is getting too funny. You should copyright MMMH, before a Silicon Valley startup will steal the idea.

I agree with Big Mac. It was a very good stage. Hardly an epic. I think if the GPS was working properly, it would have been less exciting.

Uran so bad , 40 seconds lost on this stage ?!

Astana ridiculous but let's wait for tomorrow, Tinkoff paid today for yesterday (what if Contador had a flat when he was alone?!).

If Astana boss next stage (5) again than it's safe to say that Aru is no1 favorite.

Who is best in a longish TT? Contador or Aru?

Definitely Contador. He was capable of beating Cancellara back in 2009.

In the words of Sean Kelly, it was a different era.

It was (respect Cancellara the wind changed in favour of Contador and it was 40, not 60), but anyway Contador is best in an ITT that Aru. A long ITT is better for Aru to lost less time by Km respect Alberto, but as well are more km. It will surprised me if Contador dont put to Aru one minute in that ITT, although Aru has worked a lot in TT.

If Aru is able to performe so well in the ITT he will win the Giro.

Hmmm to me he looked like he was struggling to hold on. Hard to tell really.

I saw him suffering a lot while Contador was like "Is that everything? Still here".

I don't really think you should look at Basso plus 20 minutes and draw a firm conclusion. I doubt he was pushing himself in the final 40km.

Once he was dropped, he was about as useful to Contador as a chocolate teapot. So he did right to soft pedal to the line with Ale-Jet.

Judge him by getting dropped, not by losing 20 minutes.

I hope he become more useful during mountain stages. So far he's showing a really poor performance for someone who used to be a top contender until a couple of years ago.

Edit: yeah you are right, the main problem is that he wasn't there to help Contador. Once he got dropped he could't care less for the time loss..

For all of TCS being not as strong as Astana or SKY for that matter I still think Contador has the strongest Dom in Kreuziger ....He will be with him when all the other Doms are gone...unless there is some issue in the team

Uran not too hot today and his team is not the strongest

OGE had 2 riders in the top group ...I think that is great esp when you see the time gaps in this stage

Contador was definately not looking like " is that everything?"

Very very very happy about Astanas performance today :) Clearly the team with the most fire power, will it be the same in the high mountains? hope so.
Only thing that slighlty worried me was that Landa, who is supposed to be Arus last man standing got dropped before the dinosaur ( :p ) Tira had finished his lead out for Arus attack

It's like reading tea leaves. The only thing we know is that Aru and Porte are certainly in very good climbing shape.

He still managed to finish in the Uran group, so maybe they are saving him to finish second in GC. ;)
Aru can tire out Contador and Porte :D

I agree (and in fact was the first to say it was overrated a few pages ago :p)

Epic stages decide a gc, preferably with a change of leadership, and have at least one favourite totally crack.

Uran losing 40 s while all the other favs roll in s.t, makes it a very good stage, not an epic.
