Exciting news from the cycling news live ticker already, with just about 20km gone:

There is a fast chase going on behind and the high pace means that the peloton has split into two groups.

Yep, but none of the GC guys was surprised behind this time.

And Belkov, Devenyns, Ladagnous, Pozzato, Slagter e Teuns got 1 min advantage at the moment.

How long until one of the main GC players (top 6) attacks? If I was one of the top 6 right now, I wouldn't wait until the final climb, I'd go on the Grappa. Maybe not at the bottom, but halfway up the climb for sure. I'd try to have a couple teammates up there, one perhaps in the break, and go for it. If you are caught right away, well, you rest up and wait for another opportunity. If you aren't caught before the final climb, then you go for it like mad, provided you didn't expend too much beforehand.

Of those, my guess would be Nibali, Pinot, Zakarin or even Pozzovivo. Quintana, if he attacks, will do so on the final climb and Dumoulin would do well to conserve and make sure he follows wheels if he has the legs.

The official Giro live ticker is showing last year's stage 20's profile, which left me extremely confused for about a minute.

Not sure it's one for Pozzato, but it's last chance.
Final show.

The odds must've been over the roof on him.

Interesting that both Movistar and Bahrain seem OK with this break. I thought they'd be keen on having riders in the break.

The break is weakish so maybe they are content that they can control it and get the bonus seconds in the end. Catching them would create a risk of a much stronger break being formed.

I'd rather watch paint dry than motorsport, but each to their own I suppose.

What I find annoying is this endless podium ceremony when our coverage was supposed to have started over 15 minutes ago.
